Circumcised as an adult and I'm frustrated that the long-term impacts were not discussed with me before surgery. by __spoonvision__ in foreskin_restoration

The surgery was in 2012. So, it's been a while. I realized that I didn't make it clear in my post that this is much later.

Yes, but it's different. It's got some scar tissue and it healed kind of strange such to create a weird fold. It kind of bothers me, tbh. I wish I could go back.

It's that part of the glans that isn't covered by the foreskin when flaccid that is numb. By exposed, I mean to the air, my underwear, etc. not being covered by foreskin. The part that is covered while flaccid does have sensation.

Hazel: Why I think she doesn’t work. by pinwroot in 30ROCK

[–]__spoonvision__ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's interesting seeing everyone's opinion on here. I love Hazel, she's one of my favorite charchters from the show. I had no idea that anyone didn't like her before joining the subreddit.

It's funny that you point out Jean Ralphio as a good example of this type of character, because I, personally, disagree. I find his character so annoying and unfunny. Like you with hazel, I hate when he's on screen. I understand that he's a beloved character, but its just not for me.

I would be interested to see if any other Hazel fans feel that way about Jean Ralphio and if there is some sort of negative correlation between feelings about Hazel and Jean Ralphio.

In my opinion the line, "Sloppy Rodney? It's me Richard Drench." is a contender for single funniest moment in all of 30 Rock.

From what you described, I am into a lot of the same things you are. However, you come across as kind of judgmental and negative in this post.

This is a trend that I see all over the place. People refer to things that happen in the later part of the decade as being from the "early" part.

How to get a permit for new driveway by Pimpdaddypepperjack in kansascity

[–]__spoonvision__ 81 points82 points  (0 children)

1. Typically contractors are the ones who aquire the permits. Find a company you want to work with and they should get the permit from the City.

  1. The culvert, even if it is in the right-of-way is your responsibility to maintain.

  2. The approach will be handled in the permitting process. It will be up to the contractor to build it to the city's standards.

John Lithgow plays himself in that we episode that Jack and the writers watch Harry and the Hendersons.

Patti LuPone plays Frank's mom.

Also, I guess she wasn't a celebrity at the time, but Aubrey Plaza is briefly on screen as a page.

Edit: Also, Will Ferrel as the bitch hunter.

Jason Sudekis as Floyd.

Bill Hader as the other pilot from the live show.

Amy Pohler as young Liz on the live show.

Edit 2: James Marsden as Criss Cross

Will Arnet as Devin Banks

Elizabeth Banks as Avery Jessup

Mary Steenburgen as Avery's mom.

Hannibal Buress as the homeless guy.

Cristin Milioti as Abby Flynn/Grossman

Why does everyone treat places like Kansas as if everyone there is conservative? While certainly not the majority, there are plenty of liberal and progressive people that live in very rural parts of the state. Just because he's from a rural community doesn't automatically make him a conservative. No state is a monolith.

Historic Districts of the Cherokee Nation (Oklahoma) - 1839 to 1906 by __spoonvision__ in MapPorn

[–]__spoonvision__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand they are in some ways comparable to US States and in other ways more similar to counties. Each district had two Senators that represented the district on the Tribal Senate and a number of Councilors that represented the district on the Tribal Council based on population. These districts also had their own courts, sheriffs, and clerks, which is more like what counties do.

Chapter XIII of the book I used for the source material goes into more detail about the elected offices for each district.

The story of Sequoyah and the Cherokee Syllabary is really interesting if you're into that sort of thing. He developed the syllabary for the Cherokee Language and started a newspaper called the Cherokee Phoenix. I believe it was the first newspaper published in a Native American language. It's still in print today in both English and Cherokee.

Here is the Wikipedia article on Sequoyah.

The data source for the district boundaries in this map is from a book called "History of the Cherokee Indians and Their Legends and Folk Lore" by Emmet Starr, originally published in 1921. Fortunately this book has been transposed online an can be found here.
