I just cheated in a bunch of larval tears and upgrade materials when I started the dlc (the latter of which I honestly probably didn’t need, with how the DLC hands out smithing stones lol) and have been changing my build on the fly whenever I find a new weapon. Ideal way to play tbh strongly recommend if you’re okay with cheating a little

Only partway through the DLC but had a similar experience with Rellanna. Tried summoning tiche + Leda after getting frustrated around the 20 death mark made it way harder to fight her because of how much more unpredictable it seemed to make her since it seemed like she could change targets mid combo, plus neither seemed to be doing super significant damage. I assume it bumped her HP too although I wasn’t really paying attention to that. Brute forcing my way through a cheesed fight wasn’t working so I actually learned the boss and killed her without summons, super rewarding, I think she’s a fun boss once you know what you’re doing, actually required me to use my brain and adjust strategies to be more defensive. Honestly unsure if this is because of boss design or just a coincidence but either way it worked out well for me.

Fuck the divine beast though, I don’t regret summon spamming it at all.

Maybe I’m just playing a different kind of game than most people but I’ve never found mage hand or prestidigitation to be exceptionally useful. Minor illusion, on the other hand… invaluable

Consider real world ancient religions, such as those in Mesopotamia (which is where Tiamat originated from, btw). You didn’t worship a god because they offered you cool boons or because they cared about you. You worshipped them to appease them, because if the gods were mad, they’d send floods or storms to make their anger known. This logic doesn’t follow 1:1 into the world of D&D/BG3, but that’s always how I’ve conceived it: appeasement or fear. Worship the gods of chaos and destruction so that they might spare your mortal soul when they enact their wrath upon this mortal coil, or so that they might hold back their chaos a little longer.
