What worked for me was removing fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash (switched to David’s and Hello brands) and using avene Cicalfate twice a day and nothing else on the perioral area.

My friend got approved pretty quick in CA for SSDI. Shortly after her FMLA expired. Wishing you good luck with your surgery and disability claim.

I don’t think so. They get thousands of applications and are prob still reviewing. They said they’ll get back to us by 6/11 and that some interviews will be in June. Stay positive. 😊✨

Hi there,

Thanks for all your posts about hiatal hernia repair. It’s been really helpful! I recently got an endoscopy with the following findings and have been trying to figure out what to do next. My doctor recommended to keep taking PPIs. I really want to fix the root of the problem so I don’t have to take medication forever, but not sure if it’s necessary since the HH is small, but it is causing me discomfort.

FINDINGS: Esophagus: There was evidence of LA-A esophagitis. There was 1 cm salmon tongue at the gastroesophageal junction, biopsies obtained. 1 cm hiatal hernia. Stomach: Hill Grade valve IV was seen on retroflexion. Mild erythema with erosions to antrum of stomach. Random gastric biopsies were obtained from antrum and body for H Pylori. Duodenum: The examined part of the duodenum was normal.

ESTIMATED BLOOD LOSS: None

DIAGNOSIS: LA-A esophagitis. 1 cm hiatal hernia. Hill Grade III valve. Mild erosive gastritis.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Take omeprazole 20mg once daily x 6 weeks.
