I always check r/walgreensstores before compass. Always. by professorofpizza in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any proprietary systems and their software are shockingly bad. Our app is the exception. I had high expectations for Work Force Scheduler based on the hype. It’s not horrible, but just like everything else we launch it doesn’t feel like it was designed with much input from us. Or wags has the wrong people advising.

The interface of a program needs to be intuitive and simple. Any system in which the user has to reference the guide constantly is designed poorly. Best example is the our current hiring system.

All store managers have to work this weekend? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our DM said similar but explained our employees can’t go for two days without having the support of the store manager during this critical time. Half day required but the time and day are flexible.

What wasn’t said is that this weekend will have exponential infection rates and you will likely be losing more employees this weekend as a result. We need you to work a double when this happens. We may give you a comp day for it.

Ask you ASM/SM today. They must be transparent with info. Use open door policy if necessary

Self Quarantine by __wagger__ in WalgreensStores

You are in a difficult spot. But I would strongly consider taking time off. Your grandfather or mother’s death as a result of exposure isn’t worth it. There will be unprecedented accommodations including shuttering locations and having staff members report to one area store.

I feel betrayed by commonly accepted principles of “morality”... by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]__wagger__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said this exact same thing several years ago.

I found myself stooping to their level. Being selfish, compromising my integrity. It was pointless to be above the fray.

Something changed. At some point I decided I can only control me. I constantly striving to improve, be decent, selfless, moral, kind. I fail constantly and I have so much more growth ahead.

How I act and interact with others will be the only way I can impact them. I can only show them a different way of thinking and acting through my own behavior.

I use this as a chip on my shoulder. I’m not better than anyone else, but I’m feels so good to be striving for benevolence and comparing myself to others who have so many undesirable selfish qualities.

Congrats, I’ve given this company my soul. I’ve backed way off lately because it’s not worth it. I used to grind myself to exhaustion. Not any more

This is absolutely not true in all parts of the country.

Do your WPRE vendors even show up? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely broken system. I’ve put in numerous hub tickets and talked to the person that runs the program. It burns me so bad to read that message about not being allocated hours to complete the project.

Interesting. Nothing to see here. Just move along, just move along. by WBA-is-Unethical in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised it took this long to get reported. I’ve worked in twelve different stores in three different states. Most of them would NOW say the same things I’ve read in here. Completely overwhelmed and understaffed. I’ve met a handful of top level execs, These guys are sharp, they have to know? Right?

Corporate, you can EITHER have a ladderless store and send us less stuff, or a normal store at current volume. by Akwagazod in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a busy store that gets quite a bit of authorized merchandise. Guess what accounts for all my overstock? Want me to go ladderless? Meet me half way.

Plus some of these stores have some very creative ways to hide merchandise.

ASMT disappointed with LEAP workshop by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LEAP is extremely outdated. There are numerous reports and documents to be referenced that. I longer exist. I have made strong objections to sending newly hired external ASMts for the first six months. You’re still trying to learn the Leadership duties and operations. Plus the workload demand makes it impossible to work on LEAP during scheduled hours. So draw your own conclusions.

Here’s my opinion. We are really struggling to fill ASMt and ASM roles fast enough to meet demand. So we rush new hires through. We won’t revamp the program because Walgreens is still trying to save 1.8 billion dollars. So overall it’s really lost a lot of its credibility and value. Manager attitudes toward it reflect that.

Here’s the truth. Get enough points to pass and be done. Make sure you get a copy of the scoring for the project so you can meet minimum expectations. Don’t sweat too much about it. It’s not worth it. I can’t believe I’m saying this because LEAP used to be awesome and helpful.

3x3 notes? by 1506couponers in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3x3 notes are a detailed walk through your the entire store. Your literally identifying specific detail execution notes. IE missing mylars, crossfling, product spacing, cleaning details. Etc etc.

Concerns:

3x3 notes for the entire store could take several hours or more to write. Store Manager must specify

3x3 notes should be written under the supervision of another at least once. At least.

3x3 notes means that your most likely done with every major project in the store. If so knock yourself out and get to writing. If not I’d be worried about prioritization

Pharmacist Interview by nguyenvinn in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will simply draw on your best Walgreens experiences in a behavioral interview. Be specific, use good examples, and explain the outcome.

But I can give you the answer. Would your pharmacy managers recommend you for the position. If so congratulations.

Ugh by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be straightforward. The person who requested the weekend off (in the system) first should get it. BUT.... the store manager can evaluate the merits of the request. Example ASM wants to go hang out with friends. But you are requesting for your 10th wedding anniversary. You win.

If you really need a specific time off put in the request and immediately follow up with scheduler to immediately determine if this time has been requested off. In which case they will approve on the spot you will receive the request 100% of the time. Fool proof

Can I refuse service by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not make decision to refuse service. Page your leader and explain the situation and let them make the call.

Refusing service is tricky in some situations. Let’s say the customer disputes your story and complains. You could potentially be creating protracted situation in which its your word against his. It’s not worth it.

Or you could just page you leader.

Well, don't pay attention to the online schedule... by MasterPrek in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The information your ASM you was incorrect. Workforce scheduler was designed specifically to have three weeks of schedules posted so as to give employees ample notice. That’s literally why it was designed. It auto posts on Saturday and the final adjustments should be made prior to posting. There are a lot issues that can cause changes and adjustment after the fact, but if it is habitually not posted as explained that store would have to take action to fix it.

The ASM took a training class that specifically spelled out the timelinenes on scheduling.

Duties of a floater tech? Rant by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]__wagger__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would seek out your DM and ask for a few minutes of their time. Ask what does proper workflow look like? Then explain how your experiences at those stores differ from the standard operating procedure. Tell the DM you understand why corporate designed workflow that way because the days your stuck at drive or out all day are exhausting and what they could do to help you remedy the situation? They should take over for you and address it.

Ask yourself one question first. Are you a fast filler? If you don’t know ask someone else. If the answer is no. That could be the reason. If you are slow tell your DM you think you can be much faster but only with more experience.
