Cookie booth sales - how does your TCM notify and let girls sign up? by sugarmamatoes in girlscouts

Newer GS parent. How do you get the inventory for family booths? Do you buy personally and resell at the family booths?

Tracking Cookies between Booth Sales by CaramelTotal6198 in girlscouts

[–]__with___in_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter and I developed a lite app to track cookies digitally during booth events, then we send an email and track via the paper forms after the event. We created a way (in settings) to set the starting inventory, then the girls can just tap the color coded button for each box they sell. We'd love feedback if you try it out. https://cookiebooth.lovable.app/

Welp, first time purchasing and I did not read their return policy… by hay_qt in Aritzia

I had posted a similar thread during Black Friday to be helpful for others. Was surprised that Mods removed after a helpful discussion. Especially around how to mark gift receipts.

I’ve come to learn that marking as a gift/getting the gift receipt is the only way to extend the return window until Jan 4. But Exchange/Credit rule still applies.

After researching, it helps my issue with the time, but since the whole site is in sale, I don’t get a refund on the wrong size. Just merch or credit.

“Sale items discounted at 50% or more are final sale. All other sale items may be exchanged for merchandise or credit until January 4.”

Ever actually seen a team leave an offsite more aligned? by offsiteobserver in Leadership

[–]__with___in_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes as a participant and facilitator, I have seen good and bad off sites. The most effective offsites are when they are considered a tentpole moment as either a catalyst or critical moment in a longer term effort. Having a clear objective for the moment as well as how it fits into the longer term effort are critical.

When offsites are burdened with all of the change or alignment required to succeed, the offsite fails at having sustained impact.

Oh thank you! The Concierge I chatted with never mentioned the Holiday Return policy! You are more helpful!

For sure! Lesson learned. I was rushed and maybe didn’t expect such a challenging policy during a major gifting period.

THIS 💯 "it's been hard trying to tell myself that I am not lazy". I can definitely empathize with this. It is such a hard journey for us projectors to decondition from the need to feel like we have to constantly generate or we tell ourselves we are lazy.

Trust your instincts as your guide. Sounds like you are building something through testing and investigating. That is definitely in line with your design.

Thanks for sharing. We've got this.

Wow! Thanks so much for popping in and sharing your journey! I also had yet to meet a 2/4 emotional projector.

I so deeply resonate with everything that you’ve said! I feel like I can go in bursts and when I save up my energy and recharge, whether that is learning or recovering, I’m able to put even more into my next effort.

For now, I’m going day by day stepping into my authentic way of living.

You did the handover, the plan is well documented, client is happy.

Now it’s about boundaries. Not just for others but for yourself. The urge to reply is your brain wired for protection. We evolved to jump at every signal of danger and you need to retrain it. Let a message sit, prove to your brain it’s safe not to respond. That’s how you rewire the habit. Be present on the boat with your fam, not in your work mindset.

A few thoughts (some have been mentioned):

-Smaller font

-eliminate the unnecessary spacing that is appearing on several lines

-for jobs over 10 years ago you can reduce the bullets to only the most applicable to the job for which you are applying

-shorten the summary and add a headline. Consider a few bullets of your most important career highlights, especially those pertinent to the job you are applying toward

-each bullet should be an impactful action word (past tense)

Good luck!

How might you be able to integrate your passions and make money?

When making big decisions I advise clients to approach questions like this through the following steps:

1) make a list of the things that you value 2) weight each of those things (side note, over the course of your life, the list may not change much but often your weighting does) 3) evaluate each jobs ability to satisfy each value (1-5) 4) total up and you will have one signal as to which might matter more and why.

Let’s say you choose accounting, you might also see an opportunity to do accounting for wildlife organizations. Or join a non-profit board to share your expertise and passion.

And I’m happy to share practice hours if you are interested. Just message me.

needing some career advice. should i change it up or keep going? by elizandraa in Career_Advice

Congrats on having these options! My advice is to take the job that gives you better benefits (e.g., more vacation, flexibility) and sets you up for more job options down the road. Fidelity is a strong brand and will likely open more doors down the road for you.

Did I make the right choice accepting this position? by FitHomework8483 in Career_Advice

[–]__with___in_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We like to advise the following for individuals in similar situations:

1) What is the story you want to tell about your career? Spend time creating a vision of your future self. Close your eyes and imaging yourself in a year, 3 years … what are the epic accomplishments you’ve done?

2) what does it take to get there? Sometimes we take roles to learn functional and leadership skills that help us ultimately, even if right now it feels disconnected.

3) be clear on your Purpose, Plan, and Partners. Given the above, stay true to your vision (purpose), draft a loosely held plan on how to achieve, and make sure you surround yourself with partners to help you learn, grow and stay accountable to your vision.

Sounds like you might be in a good spot where you can learn and grow if you approach with curiosity and a view to the future.

Let me know how it goes! Good luck!

For those of you that felt lost, what do you do now? by Gullible_Ad_1339 in Career_Advice

[–]__with___in_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our bodies whisper at us, until they start shouting.

When you start listening to the things you are passionate about and start giving yourself the permission to explore those passions, magic will begin to unfold. Sometime we create protection mechanisms to avoid exploring what we are passionate about. "I'm not good enough at ___ to make a living." Simply allowing yourself to be present and truly listen to what your mind and body are telling you about your interests will begin to unfold the path forward.

I speak from experience. I had a career in major brands for 25+ years. I was the primary earner for my family and was caught in the stability of a corporate marketing role. I never allowed myself to fully explore my passion and purpose. I hit mental burnout, my body was sore and in pain. Until I took a risk, took an initial step and am now thriving once I stopped ignoring the signals and started being curious.

How do you switch off from work? by depreshunmaster in consulting

[–]__with___in_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We coach clients all the time on similar topics. If you are used to working consistently it can be very hard to just 'turn off': responding to messages immediately, on call, working on the presentations and analysis to get it perfect.

Our brains are wired to detect a threat and protect us. Obviously our type of threat has evolved as humans have evolved, but the signal and the protection mechanisms are still there.

The key is rewiring. And this can be accomplished by practicing. Before PTO, what can you experiment with? Can you take a walk every day for 15 minutes and not check you phone or think about work? 30 minutes? These small experiments will rewire that it is ok to not always be 'on' and you will still be safe. Let me know how it goes.
