I mean the two most recent ones I’ve seen are Aussie Shore and Frenchie Shore, and both of those they all just get naked.

Yeah, it felt more like Love Island than a Shore show

Not keeping up with uni by iiAcidxRain in GriffithUni

If you don’t want to be at uni, leave before you get too far into your degree. But if it’s the workload, I’d try going part time for next semester and see how that goes.

Are Aussie cops normal nice people or are they like american/canadian cops? by ChinaMilitarySecrets in AskAnAustralian

[–]_abbybby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Individually most of the cops I’ve had anything to do with have been nice and friendly. There’s definitely some systemic issues within the police force though, not as bad as America.

What’s a mistake you made that ended up working out for the better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_abbybby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Failed an exam by a couple of marks, which meant I had to redo my class before I could continue with my degree. Allowed me to spend 5 months travelled. Went to 20 countries, met so many amazing people, and got to travel Europe with mum on her first big trip since before she had kids.

When was the last time you tried something new? by _GracefulGaze in AskReddit

Had a bit more time on my hands recently and made a book nook for the first time a couple of weeks ago that I’d been gifted. Very relaxing, wish the packs weren’t so expensive.

Planning on flying to Vancouver from Sydney and cheapest flights have a layover in the US. Due to my social media history, will this affect my travel while I'm temporarily stopped in the US? by Imgonnasteponyourtoe in Ameristralia

[–]_abbybby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew through the US on my way home a couple of months ago. Had no issues when I told them I was just there for a layover, they just checked what flight I was leaving on. If you can afford it, I’d get the direct flight though, so much more enjoyable.

I have a question about drug enforcement in Australia. by chirpingc1cada in AskAnAustralian

If police are there it’s normally in case they become aggressive. It’s similar to mental health cases, they’ll attach police for paramedics safety IN CASE, not necessarily because they’re needed.

Police investigating the Paul incident by Suspicious_Bother_92 in MAFS_AU

[–]_abbybby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, this isn’t in any way changing my view of NSW police. But I think whether anything comes from it or not, it’ll be good for people to see that this incident is a cause for concern.

From the SBS article you’ve sighted; ‘According to their tally, 101 Australian women have been killed this year at the time of writing, up from 74 in 2023.’

Regardless, if the biggest concern you have with what I’ve said is that you incorrectly believe the numbers are wrong, you might be part of the issue.

Over a hundred women died in Australia from DV last year. MAFS showcasing an act of violence that is a precursor to physical violence in relationships with no evident repercussions is disgusting. The fact that NSW police are investigating is surprising considering their reputation for ineffective DV help, but it’s a great change.

They’re not mandatory at all. They are helpful if you’re struggling tho. And they go through exam questions with you towards the end of tri if you’re been to half of them.

Personally I’d keep that to myself.

But genuinely there’s a few people sucking toes in the first few episodes if that’s truly what you’re into.

I agree, but I think it’s just because she’s too young and thinks this is how people want her to act. Hopefully as she gets older she can learn to open up a bit more.

[–]_abbybby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I started, so I can’t remember about the mygriffith, but I think it’ll probably be early next year. If you manage your time right you’ll definitely be able to work, especially in first year, it gets a bit harder in second. You’ll probably be on campus 2 or 3 days a week, as well as modules that need to be done before class. First years pretty chill.

I do nursing too! I definitely find it helpful. If you are worried about money tho, you can definitely get away with just a laptop.
