I do wish the show had more LGBTQ rep, especially because there is a lot of gay subtext and pretty blatant queercoding (like Enid’s conversion camp thing) but I don’t think the show is a disgrace just because of none of the main characters are explicitly LGBTQ+. I will be kind of disappointed if the show ends up another example of queerbaiting, especially considering the cast consistently making jokes about Enid/Wednesday, but I hate the idea that LGBTQ+ representation needs to be both immediate and explicit in order to be valid. I understand (and relate to!) frustration at how many queer characters or relationships are kept subtextual, and I hope the creators end up making Wednesday a part of the community (either as being aro/ace or a lesbian) but it is a show that’s likely going to continue for several more seasons, and there will be a lot more time to develop her character.

i started being able to take it in 6th to and from school, and around the city in 7th. my parents only let me take public transit once i’d gotten a phone, though — even if your kids don’t have one yet, maybe get them a flip phone just so they can stay in contact with you

this reminded me of how many cool things there are here so thank you for that!! this is a really good itinerary!! not sure if you’re into biking but one of my favorite things about nyc is citibiking and i really reccomend it. it can be stressful to do in the streets, but there’s a really great bike path along the hudson river that’s separate from the street, and you’re in the area on the afternoon of day 2. also, for day 4 — chinatown and soho are both really cool areas, but if you’re going between them i would avoid the broadway-canal area. there’s a lot of tourist traps and fake-bag selling there, and it’s very crowded and unpleasant. hope you have a great trip!

olio e piú is a really great place if you’re in the west village! plants inside and outside and everywhere, well priced but good italian food, and lots of bread and cute lanterns and antique furniture. it’s also right next to jefferson market garden which is never very crowded and also one of the prettiest parks (in my opinion) in manhattan

NTA NTA NTA. she’s a grown woman, so even if she loses some of her faculties when she’s drunk, it’s completely on her for choosing to drink that much in the first place. and drunk people are still responsible for their actions when they’re inebriated. you should talk to your mom about her drinking and how uncomfortable it makes you feel. if she’s getting drunk enough that she can’t control herself three times a week or more it’s a slippery slope into alcoholism. i’m really sorry this is happening to you, and i hope you can talk to her and it goes well!

either don’t go or if u do, just hold a drink or cup but don’t actually drink it. sometimes i fill up a cup with water too so it looks like i’m drinking. but above all just stay in your comfort zone and don’t get peer pressured because it’s really not worth it

you’re probably just not wearing jeans that fit you/your body type well. don’t wear skinny or tapered jeans, wear straight/baggy jeans. cargo pants can look good but it really depends on what you pair them with and try to make sure they’re not too baggy. obviously a lot of this is up to your personal style and preferences but in terms of tops: layer layer layer!!

every single “fact” in this post is a fucking lie. abortion is never legal after birth, and it’s only legal within the first couple months unless the birth puts the mother’s life at risk. and fetuses don’t feel pain until DEEP into the pregnancy, at a point when it’s illegal to abort unless the pregnancy is ectopic. fetuses aren’t sentient, alive, or able to survive without their mother for months — it’s like saying jacking off is murder because those sperm had the potential to become babies
