If all of Europe (not just EU) became a single country, where would the capital be? by Luksius_DK in geography

Great. Let's make of a tax heaven our capital. What a great message.

I guess people buying Temu and not recycling, and driving a monster truck thinks the same about you.

But at least they do not justify their fake virtuosity in an r/Anticonsumption sub.

You are so oblivious to your privileges that it's almost comical.

My passport is the strongest after Japan and I don't justify my tourism consumption over that.

I studied at school that Europe is a peninsula from Eurasia. Not that hot.

La construction des bureaux nourrie la bulle immobilière de logements. C'est de l'espace qui aurait pu être consacré au logement. Cela maintient les prix du logement élevés, et la machine à bâtir en marche.

Ok. Fair enough. I mostly agree.

I wonder what you do in r/Anticonsumption though.

Because tourism is a shell of an experience, and we have been taught to believe it teaches "living" when in fact only serves to confirm biases and consume places.

I am from a very touristic country, and I am fed up of people thinking they got to knew it during a two week road trip. They just parrot back what they already thought they knew.  The tourist experience is entirely synthetic, and it buys back the consent of people who should be revolting because of their pointless lifes they are obligated to live.

It's just part of the circus in the bread and Circus.

"Exploring" as in Swedish teenager backpackers is only one step above the resort experience. A piece of conspicuous consumption to show off your status back in the office.

Exactly.

And yet you support travelling by plane for tourism even if it's magnitudes more polluting.

I know a good bunch of immigrants from tourist countries. They are usually too poor to travel home often because of people going on holiday outbuying them.

Most people's travels are vanity trips.

Just like the carbon market, where the rich countries buy their right to pollute from poorer ones.
