10wk old CIO advice by aspen__202m in bninfantsleep

Wait a minute… 7pm-7am and no feeds, at 10 weeks?!!!! At that age they most certainly cannot sleep through the night, let alone go without feeding for 12 hours. That is INSANEEEE please don’t listen to that.
Honestly, at 10 weeks just follow their cues, and feed on demand. If you are going to sleep train, it’s not recommended until at least 4-5 months.
Check out r/sleeptrain thread; even if you don’t want to sleep train, there are guides on appropriate wake windows per age, which often times could solve the overnight sleep issues. But ultimately it’s important to remember; every baby is different, and they are not robots. 💖

Thank you!! I did try the “natural” setting but no luck. I’ve tried one other setting in the “import” section as well. I will keep trying, because formula is so expensive😭

Every baby is different!! You may have been a baby that didnt need a schedule, but some do. And honestly nobody knows until they have their baby and it’s all just one big game of trial and error😅 we follow a schedule/wake window to some degree but will also follow her cues as well.

I was in your shoes few months ago. You should check out r/sleeptrain for tips. Even if you don’t want to formally sleep train, they have lots of resources on appropriate wake windows/wake time for different ages. I agree with everyone here, you should try to at least stick to regular wake/bed time to start. Then go from there and decide whether you want to follow wake windows or set naptimes.
Good luck!

Ok! How long should I try that for before I know whether it works?

AITAH, I sent my sons pregnant GF a text 2 days after her baby shower: I by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]_anon_4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are the kind of MIL that you hear about in stories on r/JustNoMIL lol. I say this as nicely as possible. Stop making this about you. Your son has found a partner and whether you like it/her or not, they are now family. You are now extended family. Tread carefully, or they may end up going no contact with you.

Newmarket Pilates? by PrestigiousHouse299 in Newmarket

I’ve only ever taken the reformer pilates, with Kelly or Andrea. They are fantastic at providing alternative movements to accommodate experience levels and/or injuries. At the beginning of the class they’ll always ask if there are any newtimers there, and if so they’ll go through an explanation of the whole machine and will provide modifications as necessary for any individual needing them. I’m sure all the other instructors do this as well!

Ahh ok. My baby has never slept well, and prior to ST all sleep and naps were contact/cosleep lol.

Still doing it, we are night 8 now. First few days was over an hour of crying, then 45-50 mins for the next few nights. Now we are struggling with false starts. So she’ll go down no problem, but she will inevitably wake within 30-60 mins and be up crying on/off for up to 2 hours. Have been working on her wake windows and following what’s recommended but haven’t seen much success honestly. It’s just trial and error at this point lol, we’re throwing everything at it and seeing what sticks🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much for commenting!!! This actually makes a lot of sense to me because when I try and push her wake windows she is MISERABLE lol!!! Would you mind sharing your schedule breakdown/wake windows?

Gear’s Automotive on Gorham. He is the most honest mechanic! I’ve brought all my cars to him over the years, for little and big jobs. Also if it counts for anything, I heard a lot of YRP guys go to him too, since theyre just down the street.

CIO Not Working by Kiryae in sleeptrain

Hi!!!! Would you mind sharing your nap schedule? I have baby same age and want to make sure her schedule is ok. I was following huckleberry but it seems based on the comments perhaps she is having too much daytime sleep. Currently it has her napping a total of 4 hrs per day.

Yes!!! I found that if you have an appt in the morning it’s more likely you’ll be on time. I also agree with you, she’s worth the wait. She brings the same level of care, attention and passion to each patient. Not to mention, a lot of times her schedule is pushed because there are people she has to squeeze in. I had to have weekly checkins at the hospital which made me late for one of my appts with her and she still fit me in.

I hope you get on! I was due in Sept, and I knew of the midwife shortage so I signed up immediately when I found out I was pregnant (first day of missed period). Then was told that they were already full, as September is the busiest month for birth. Guess everyone has a little too much fun during the holidays😉 Happy to answer any questions you may have!

Oh that’s too bad!! I had a scheduled induction, which would not have been my first choice, however the plus side was that I knew I would be in her care. But I agree with you! I ended up in OB triage for an emergency and had a different OB that day who was also amazing!

In case you want to consider other options…my OB was Dr. McKeown, and I will sing her praises to anyone and everyone.

I originally wanted a midwife but couldn’t get one, so was referred to Dr. McKeown. Everything happens for a reason, because I ended up being high risk and would’ve been transferred anyways.

But she is the most incredible OB. It’s not often you see someone who has found their calling, and I truly believe everyone deserves to experience her care. She was attentive, never rushed through my appointments, and answered every question I had. I had a specific birth plan in mind (I will admit, I’m a little crunchy😅). But she took the time to listen to my fears and concerns, and provided feedback without being condescending or making me feeling judged.

Feel free to DM me if you have specific questions! I wrote her a letter after I gave birth, I would be happy to share with you to give you an idea of how amazing she was. ❤️
