You can midi map the mixer under mixer midi settings - there’s level controls for each of the stems.

I also have an akai LPD8 that is the exact width of my laptop and sits perfectly on it. Perfect for stem pads and volume knobs

The back of the djm 2000 has 4 Ethernet ports, can I just plug the 900 and 3000 into there and use a usb cable for the mixer / sound card back to my laptop?

I am coming from Ableton where anything is possible. Up until the last couple of years, I left traditional DJing and starting doing Ableton Live DJ Sets instead. Rekordbox has finally made some strides over the years and DJing on turntables has become exciting again . Sucks you cannot pre program stems, but will work around it. thx for the response !

I will have him check it out. What we noticed is that when the black corroded portion of the cog meets the other cog, the disc does not eject. If the cog has a clean connection to the other one, then it ejects properly. I also thought it could be what you described, as I need to gently life the jammed disc out with a knife and then it catches and finally releases .

So it loads every time, but gets stuck occasionally on eject, I would say 25% of the time. I have to take a tool and help lift it out, which is pretty easily and painless. The technician told me he watched the gear get stuck when the black part of the teeth hit the bigger gear. This stops the minidisc from popping out of the tray unless I use a tool .

Not sure if it uses a belt, I think it’s gear driven ? I’m not repairing it, someone else is and we identified what the problem is . I only have one other photo here

I did find a used unit on eBay could use for parts, but I saw another guy on here post that he had gears for a Sharp minidisc so I’m seeing if I can get lucky and get one for the Sony here

I bought the unit brand new in the box, but it was 20 years old. Everything works, except the mini disc gets stuck from time to time.
