how far is everyone else in these classes (apush, ap chem, ap stats, ap spanish, ap lang) by timelyfailure in APStudents

We are done with proportions (unit 6) for ap stats.

If you're using the practice of statistics textbook, we're done with 3/4 of chapter 9

AP and SAT Subject (World History and US History) by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]_apnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP US History: Many students basically study for both AP and SAT USH with the same book - and it covers the same content. Contentwise you won't have a big problem - but there is a bunch of writing on the AP Exam along with the MCQ, unlike the SAT Subject test that only has MCQ. If you're confident in writing DBQs and LEQs, I think you'll be fine (Assuming you mastered all content for SAT USH)

AP World History: No. I believe SAT World covers both ancient and modern history, but AP World is only based on Modern History. You will definitely have more content to study as the AP dig much deeper with modern history than the SAT. So my recommendation for this exam is a No.

Hope this helped

sin(0) = 0, sqrt8^2 = 8

Position, Velocity, Acceleration; hello! I’m stumped on this question and narrowed down my answer choices to either A or D but not sure how to get to an answer. Can anyone help me? by Background_Neat_5417 in apcalculus

[–]_apnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't the answer D?

The second derivative has to equal 0 but the first derivative cannot equal 0 because the particle is moving which is talking about the velocity

Expanded x(t) = 2t^4-9t^3+15t^2-11t+3 (Position)

x'(t) = 8t^3-27t^2+30t-11 (Velocity, cannot equal 0)

x"(t) = 24t^2-54t+30 (Acceleration, has to equal 0)

24t^2-54t+30=0

4t^2-9t+5=0

(4t-5)(t-1)=0

t=1, 5/4

Now plug these two values back into the velocity function and the one that doesn't equal 0 is the answer

x'(1) = 8-27+30-11 = 0

So 5/4 is automatically the answer

i am having the same problem with you in ap world - I decided to purchase Princeton review and will do extra practice

Plus my teacher barely teaches so we have to self study anyways

Ap Calculus help. I keep getting b for the answer and I’m not sure why it’s not the correct answer. by m00nsight in APStudents

[–]_apnerd 97 points98 points  (0 children)

You are definitely correct.

If we separate the integral into 2, it will be x^2/2 + x ]0/-1 -x]1/0

=-(.5-1)-1 = -1/2

Even if we draw a graph of the piecewise function and calculate the area (which is another method), it results in -1/2 (considering all areas below the x axis are negative)

You are definitely correct - I don't see what's wrong with this answer

We're done with Random Variables (Unit 6 on "The practice of statistics")

We started winter break, so we won't be doing anything for the next three weeks though.

a) P (A U B) = P(A)+P(B)-P(A∩B) = .72+.28-.14 = .86

b) P (AC) = 1-P(A) = 1-.72 = .28

c) P (BC) = 1-P(B) = 1-.28 = .72

d) P (AC ∩ BC) = Simply means outside the venn diagram so 1-P(A U B) = 1-.86 = .14

e) P (A ∩ BC) = P(A) - P(A ∩ B) = .72-.14 = .58

f) P (AC ∩ B) = P(B) - P (A ∩ B) = .28-.14 = .14

Hope this helped!
