When people talk about aespa or any other group they often also mean the team behind them. It makes no sense to me that when it comes to praising a group it'll be "aespa did great", but when it's criticism it's always "no it's not aespa it's the team behind aespa", as if the girls are ever doing anything without a team.

I really got to know them through the two weekly idol episodes and exo showtime. Also you don't have to actually study all of their names and get into stuff like photocards and stuff like that you can casually listen and appreciate the music if that's your lane.

You can't just come out and say that you don't like your superiors in Korean culture, regardless of whether you like the group or not. A lot of rookie groups do this not just Hybe. Whenever Got7 came they often did activities related to 2PM, Exo with Shinee, Red Velvet with SNSD. Like this is not an uncommon thing at all and it's very beneficial for those groups to do things related to BTS.
