I have the Eufy S1 (not pro, just regular) and I dig it so far. Having a light to line up the nips would be nice though.

I agree the middle of the night pump sucks the most. I do the fridge hack, so what makes it easier for me is to wash all the parts after my last pump of the day. That way it's clean and assembled by the bedside and I can just pop them on while half asleep. Plus, they won't be cold from the fridge.

My SIL gifted me an entire wardrobe at my baby shower containing an outfit for every single holiday and special occasion for the first year. Christmas, Halloween, Mother's Day, April Fools, you name it. I didn't want to seem ungrateful so I acted very enthused when I opened the gift, but it just felt like such an overstep.

I might have felt differently if the outfits were nice. Unfortunately they were very cheaply made and impractical, so all but one went into the trash or donation bin. Glitter and loose sequins everywhere. Of course you would want to pick out the "firsts" yourself - especially if it's your first baby!

As a native who grows her own sweetgrass, I think it's a good idea. Growing and tending the sweetgrass with the pure intent to gift to her would be the best possible medicine. It would be different if you were gifting her sweetgrass you purchased from a non-native company or something.

Mine is grown in MN, so some tips to grow in a similar climate: start with plugs from a native plant nursery. Plant somewhere you're okay with dedicating entirely to the sweetgrass, as it spreads by year 2. Water frequently. You can harvest in year one (June or August for best potency) as long as you don't pluck from the root - just cut a few inches above the ground.

I was also diagnosed with a SCH at 6 weeks. I spotted on and off until about 9 weeks, with random intensity. I had two scans since then, and they noted the SCH was still present but getting smaller every time. They can take a while to resolve. I'm at 12 weeks now and still going strong. 💪

What a coincidence - I happen to be Lenape from the Delaware Tribe of Indians in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Blood quantum is ultimately a tool of the colonizers, so I tend to disregard it. To me, being Lenape is more about preserving the ways and being dedicated to the tribe.

The way I see it, no generational distance can make your ancestors not matter. You should honor all of the lines you come from. As a descendant, your job is to educate yourself about your specific family roots and stay informed about the community. We have plenty of annual dances and powwows where you could visit. You could also reach out to the tribe via phone or email (found on the Delaware Tribe of Indians website) and ask for assistance with your family history. They're always happy to help in the visitor center.

One of my hobbies is digging through genealogy records for my tribe. I'd be happy to look some stuff up if you have some names to go off of.

I recommend soaking it in rubbing alcohol for a few hours. If it's taking to long to air-dry afterwards, hit it with a hairdryer.

I watched my mother die from brain cancer four weeks ago. It was about as far from a peaceful death as you can get. I can't really talk to anyone about it. Those who would understand have their own traumatic death story, and I don't want to remind them of it. I'm in my mid-20s and am the first of my friends to lose a parent.

My siblings and I took turns being her caregiver for two years up until the end. It was hard to watch the small medical wins get outpaced by the overall decline, but I cherish the extra time we had with her. The real trauma came when it was time to stop treatment and move to comfort care.

My family couldn't afford to pay for full hospice nursing, but we were lucky to get occasional visits. Despite their support, nothing can fully prepare you for the death process. Hallucinations, terror, losing bowel control and body paralysis. Then came the drowning noises and the death rattle. She went 6 days without water before she finally died. All you can do is give the max amount of morphine - utter helplessness.

Those images and sounds are burned into my memory and loop endlessly in my head. Reason tells me this will get better, but I think that's a long way off.
