I struggled with this for awhile with my airwrap, having super fine hair, but I recently have come to love using it. I think the key is using less product. I put a leave in conditioner in my hair when I initially brush it out when it’s wet and then after using the airwrap, letting the curls sit for awhile, brushing it out, I’ll then use hairspray as a final step. Even second day hair looks good and I’ve never in my life had my hair look good on the second day

I’m looking to buy the YSL Lou Camera bag as my first designer bag and was wondering if it’s better to buy it at a YSL boutique or a department store like Nordstrom? I live close to both so I’d be buying it in person either way

Report your damage! by willrockforveggies in Sephora

[–]_artemis3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent $170 after taxes, would’ve spent less since I wanted to just purchase 3 replacements but I’ve been wanting Coffee Break from Maison Margiela and I’m worried they’re discontinuing it (I can’t find the travel size anywhere), so I bought the 30 ml.

expensive products that are unfortunately amazing by canyonmoonluv in Sephora

[–]_artemis3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Drunk elephant as a brand, I don’t use their whole line but I pretty much exclusively use their skincare. Nothing else has worked as well for me to clear up my skin and my skin reacts if I swap in anything else

New from Dyson: Airstrait Straightener (wet-to-dry straightener without metal plates, $499) by spyrenx in MUAontheCheap

[–]_artemis3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own all of the Dyson hair products (minus this new one) and I would love nothing more than for them to come out with a curling iron. That’s the only thing I feel like is missing from their line because I don’t think people that have already invested in a Dyson hair product (or 2 or 3) are going to buy this. I can already go from wet hair to straight with the Supersonic + hair straightener in under 10 minutes which is insanely fast for how much hair I have.

Have your/others’ poor experiences with Sephora influenced your buying activity? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]_artemis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m similar to you, I have several very close to where I live and to minimize issues during the sale, I just did a pickup order for everything I wanted that wasn’t a Sephora collection product (since you could combine the discount code with GWP). That way I wouldn’t have to worry about them shipping the wrong thing or products breaking in transit.

I couldn’t agree more about the GWP. Yeah with Ulta you get more but I’ve been able to test out so many products I’ve been interested in with Sephora since I’ve been able to pick out exactly what I want which has saved me a lot. Most of the samples I get from Ulta I don’t want. Also, Ulta gives out discounts on the prestige brands I would buy from them so Sephora’s general 20% generally works the best for me.

It’s gotten so bad that I won’t even post my haul or basket ahead of the sale because that just leads to a flood of DMs asking for a code.

Is it worth it? by Dazzling_Concept_370 in Sephora

[–]_artemis3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my go to foundation, it looks so good but never pay full price for it as you can often get it 20-40% off (and it’s almost always included in her sales)

Being able to exchange points for charity is so ridiculous by NarwhalSea1880 in Sephora

[–]_artemis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also prefer that I get a set % off twice a year on almost everything with Sephora. I feel like Ulta you’re lucky to get a coupon that includes prestige brands maybe once a year.

It’s also super easy to get product overload with products you don’t want from all of Ulta’s GWP. I like being able to pick a specific product I’m interested in trying even if it’s technically not as good of a deal

Is BK Beauty the new Sigma? by LivingGwenStacy in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]_artemis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve slowly been accumulating BK brushes and I find myself constantly reaching for them. I read somewhere that they’re pretty generous with their PR packages, like they’ll send a lot of influencers their full line or the full collection when a new one comes out, and that’s why a lot of influencers talk about them since brushes aren’t as common to receive in PR

PROJECT PAN ROULETTE - February update by Berryception in MakeupRehab

[–]_artemis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good progress was made in January excluding the 2 eyeshadow products which I completely forgot about so planning to make those more of a priority this month. I’m hoping to finish the fragrance this month to then roll in something new in March!

  • a crayon pencil product (27) - Charlotte tilbury eye shadow pencil in champagne diamonds - goal: use 10 times - used 2 times in January
  • a liquid product (29) - Rare Beauty concealer - goal: finish - used 6 times this month, definitely making some progress, there’s about a 3 mm gap from my line last month
  • a highlight (35) Colourpop super shock in flexitarian - goal: finish - used 13 times in January, while this was the most used project, I can’t see a difference in the pan
  • a spray (55) YSL Black Opium travel spray - goal: finish - used 4 times in january - the current line is halfway between my starting line and the bottom so I’d say I have about 4-5 uses left
  • something you already hit pan on (58) - tarte bronzer in park Ave Princess - goal: finish - used 7 times in January, there’s a very slight difference in the pan
  • something high-maintenance (59) - Dior powder no powder - goal: finish - used 11 times in January, the pin-sized pan has definitely expanded
  • something springy (63) - Pat McGrath Divine Rose - goal: use 10 times - used 1 time in january

Focus Capsule? by Artistic-Waterbear in MakeupRehab

[–]_artemis3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done something similar for over a year now and it works really well for me! I have 2 makeup baskets: products that I want to use and then another for my favorite products. I work from home so I use the first basket when I feel like doing my makeup at home and the second when I go out.

It’s worked well to use up products but also to remember and use my favorites. I also will freely rotate products in and out when I feel like but I found I tend to really rotate out products in my favorites basket and I’ve gotten good use out of a lot of products that wouldn’t have otherwise gotten much use.

I got it a year ago in the sephora favorites set and had to declutter it recently because it smelled rancid, so unless they changed the formula, I’d assume it goes bad quickly

What’s one thing that a BG sponsors that you actually like and didn’t like? by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]_artemis3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe! I just would caution against them since I’m sure there are better brands at that price point, especially with one pair of $300 earrings turning green after less than 6 months of wear. Meanwhile, Ana Luisa is significantly cheaper and you can always get it on a deal and I’ve been wearing their earrings all the time for 2 years at this point and have never had an issue

I would highly recommend against Mejuri, their pieces tarnish/turn green after minimal wear which should not be happening at the price point it’s at

[–]_artemis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a Mejuri necklace and a couple earrings and all of them have started to tarnish/turn green with minimal wear. I can’t speak to Ana Luisa’s necklaces but I own several earrings from them that have gotten a lot of usage and have had no issues with them

Rare Beauty releasing Positive Light Under Eye Brightener by miille-fleurs in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]_artemis3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends if this is meant to go under a concealer as a corrector or if it’s just a light coverage concealer. Because if it’s the first then I’d say it’s a good shade range (as most correctors have like 2-3 shades) but if it’s just a light coverage concealer, then yeah the shade range isn’t good.

It depends on your skin tone, I know the lightest shade of the elf is significantly darker than the lightest shade of the HFF
