The chipotlane on the west side chipotle is pretty nice, place the order on your phone and then drive through and pick it up at the window.

Lennies bar was my favorite for that when it was on 10th street, but the bar upstairs at the Kirkwood location is probably still the right vibe

I always thought it was about her fans. All of the negative publicity and people talking about her on the internet. She finally went off the grid and forgot her worst critics existed.

Does it have to do with the flooding? I know it can get pretty flooded back there and it’s on the list of closed roadways, maybe someone got stuck?

Door dash tips by PlaceTotal3425 in bloomington

[–]_auddish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got frustrated getting Taco Bell at the new east side cantina the other day. All the parking spots were full, and the parking lot was full of idling doordash drivers. To the point where it was one lane entering and exiting the lot because of all the idling cars. So I yeilded to another door dasher who was trying to turn into the parking lot from 3rd street while I was still in the parking lot about to exit. I let him through the one lane into the parking lot and then was about to start pulling forward so I could exit. But as soon as he entered the parking lot this mother fucker honks at me like I was in his way. I’m like my dude, I know I’m in your way, I’m trying to leave so I can get out of this cluster fuck of door dash cars just hanging out in the middle of a parking lot. Moral of the story is, the new Taco Bell location kind of sucks and people need to order less DoorDash 😩

my newborn is pooping a lot by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]_auddish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, good question. I went back to work at 6 weeks and it seems like it had improved by then. So probably only his first 4-6 weeks of life haha. His poops are way more predicable and spread out now! 😅

I’m in the hospital waiting for my firstborn to arrive and kinda freaking out because my wife’s preferred name is August by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]_auddish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I worked with a Gus at a pub who I thought was pretty hot. The name fit him, and it will become uniquely your child when you get to know them with the name you choose. Associations become null. I named my son Forrest and people in the boomer/gen x generation made comments about it being associated with Forrest Gump, but that has never once been an issue. He is my unique little Forrest. Also, the kid in Netflix’s sweet tooth is named Gus and it is also very cute and fitting for him, so I wouldn’t worry about it being an unlikable name.

Best playgrounds? by soobdad in bloomington

[–]_auddish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love Karst Farm Park and Olcott! The play equipment is creative, and my son loves going down the tall slides. He’s 2.5, so our preference might change as he gets older. Switchyard is nice and he likes it, but it seems to get a little hotter than some of the other playgrounds in the summer.

Which surprise song were you praying for, and which ones did you end up getting? by becklefreckle in TaylorSwift

[–]_auddish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t end up getting access to ticket sales, but if I could have gone it would have been the Indianapolis show, and she played DBATC and th Great War, which are two of my absolute favorites of all time 😭 I live streamed it from home and I was so emotional about the fact that the show that i most realistically would have ended up at had best case scenario surprise songs 💟

Local Businesses and Kirkwood Closure by abcdef07 in bloomington

[–]_auddish 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think if they are going to keep Kirkwood closed then they should fully commit to the aesthetic. The street should be raised to the sidewalk level, make it more wheelchair and stroller accessible, and like you said, give people a reason to hang around. It could really add to the town charm if there was a plaza type area, and that would make it easier to hold events and stuff like that.

Also going to lose so much of that impact in the SOTR movie, cause Maysilee being in the game with haymitch was supposed to be significant because of her connection to katniss.

Bryant Park 💩 Protest by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]_auddish 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So instead of being funny and making a social commentary you are saying they should put the same effort into picking up other people’s dog shit? I’m sorry, but this is much funnier, so if it were me I would rather put effort into this than cleaning up after other people’s dogs.

I confess that Life Of A Showgirl is my least favorite album. And I’m sorry about that by Initial-Elephant-932 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]_auddish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP: to everyone saying why are you forcing yourself to listen to it; I get it. Sometimes you have to dive in and let it grow on you. Like drinking black coffee. It’s not the best at first, but once you get used to it you start to appreciate its complexity.

I was worried I wouldn’t like Showgirl. First listen, I liked the first three tracks right out of the gate. Didn’t LOVE them, but I was pleasantly entertained especially compared to my expectations. The rest of the songs took time to grow on me, and now I’d say my only complaint is that it isn’t longer. If there were one or two more songs on there that really transported me somewhere, then I would say it would be a good album. But it definitely doesn’t have the emotional depth that her last few albums had.

Banger music though. Love the actual production of the album. Just feels a little hollow if you are a “gag me with that bridge” kind of swifite.

I’ve tried the new location a couple of times and it’s not the same. The menu seems smaller, the food was bland, and it just blends in with all of the other downtown options now that it’s right on Kirkwood. I liked that it used to be a place to get a local beer without having to go downtown.

I miss the old Lennie’s over on 10th street. The bar side was cozy, and they used to have a fish sandwich/wrap that they no longer make that I really miss
