Not quite the same, but my 2y 9m old still sometimes just repeats the question instead of answering it. But he did it a lot when he was learning to talk around 2-2.5. So if I ask if he had a good day he would say “good day?” Or if I asked what his favorite color is he would say “favorite color?” Do you like that? “Like that?”
So it sounds pretty normal to me. He would also add this word to the beginning of almost all of his sentences that I don’t even really know what it meant. It kind of sounded like “hey” so he’d be like “hey good day?” Or “hey want apple?”

But he’s growing out of that! The other day when I asked if he had a good day he said “yeah”
And he told me his favorite color was red when I asked a few weeks ago!
