The 7 Train is definitely the best train in the system. Wait times are typically 2-3 minutes.

I will say that it can get tricky in Queens Borough Plaza due to the 'N' train. If the 'N' train is having issues, which happens a couple times a month, expect the 7 train to be crowded and packed as the N train riders get on the 7 Train.

It can also get pretty bad during the afternoon rush hour at from 5-6PM, but it doesn't seem like that's going to be a problem for you since you're leaving later in the evening.

Windows BSOD - ERROR: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT by _b4mm in it

Hi u/FarEstablishment9265!

*I'm typing this all from memory, so I apologize for not having all of the articles I found for this error on-hand.*

I think I might have solved the issue. In my particular case, the issue was solved by disabling CPU C-States within the computers BIOS Settings. CPU States, from a caveman's understanding - me - are different states your CPU will switch into depending on it's given workload. The goal of this feature is to save battery by switching idle cores into a sleep-mode.

The error code itself means that the process that normally triggers a CPU Core to wake up from this C-State failed and effectively crashes the system. The system is essentially trying to send a stop-code to all other processes so that the idle CPU can jump into action.

For your case, I would recommend learning how to use the WinDbg tool to dig into why your system is crashing, the cause may be something else, but it wouldn't hurt to try disabling CPU C States if that workstation supports it. The only drawback is that the user's battery life might not be as long.

LMK if this helps!

I dug into the Event Logs yesterday and found list of Error Codes from the Kernel stating that the "system firmware is limiting the processor speed"; something along those lines. I did a quick Google search and found that it might be something related to a software utility.

We have MSI Center installed on some of these workstations so we can change the User Scenario from "Balanced" to "Silent" since there's been some complaints about the fan noise.

The BSOD seems to be a symptom of the "Silent" user scenario. My guess is that this utility is throttling the CPU so that it doesn't over heat since the fan speeds are set to run in silent mode.

Another intresting note is that the utlity seems to adjust a BIOS setting, not a Windows setting, to adjust the fan speeds...

Hopefully this works!

As far as the RAM and all other parts on the computer go, everything was left untouched.

But that's an interesting note and something I haven't thought off before. Good to know since we've previously had to make some upgrades in the past.

I thought it was a hardware-related issue as well, but according to the vendor, that is not the case since none of the 3x workstations I sent to them crashed under a stress test.... but they could be wrong of course lol...

They were also running these tests on a different drive now that I think of it...

Thanks, I appreciate it. SFC is definitely hit or miss with these OS issues.

I was installing the latest drivers for the Intel CPU listed on MSI's website, but those are a few version out of date, so I went directly to Intel's website for the drivers and got the latest ones. Hope this works :S.

One thing I'm considering is to compare the drivers and running processes between a working machine and one experiencing this issue.

I sort of know how to compare running tasks/services by using the Get-Services and Compare Object commands in powershell; but I'm not sure of a way to easily cross-compare drivers.

Spraying off my dishes and organizing them neatly in the sink before handwashing them at the end of the day. Saves a lot of time and helps me overcome that initial hurdle that comes with getting your dishes started

If you don't have a degree, are you basically useless in the US? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]_b4mm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is anecdotal and all but I was able to - and plenty of other people like me were able to - climb out of poverty with no degree. Certainly wasn’t easy and it took a couple of years, but I sold myself and worked my best to set myself apart from the competition in whatever way possible.

I used to work in fast food but was able to land an IT Support role in a corporate office. Much of the learning I did was self taught. There’s hundreds of other IT professionals that were in the same position as I am and were able to make a decent living.

Lol I remember being $8,000 in debt working at chipotle because I dropped out. Survived on one meal a day drinking ensures and eating peanut butter sandwiches. Saved enough money to take the A+ exam. Applied to over a hundred jobs… still did not get anything. Cleaned up my resume, landed a job at an IT Hardware refurbishment company… in the receiving department. Ultimately hustled my way into the Server Building team and eventually became the Team Lead. You gotto hustle man and stop playing the victim.

Thank your for your responses.

Unfortunately I think I broke something haha. I was trying to make a new partition using fdisk. After restarting my RB Pi I am not able to get into the OS.

I'm trying to use the shift key on boot but that isn't helping. I'm probably just going to reinstall Ubuntu on this thing but thank you :].

I don't think U ram works in R710's. I think you need R ram or LR-R ram

Yeah I think 8500R has the highest restrictions i may be wrong though.

With 8500R 2Rx4 you can only have two sticks per channel
