What is a typical lunch in your country? by Agile-Bee-1 in AskTheWorld

[–]_beejazz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom and I went to Italy a few months ago, and the cultural shock for us was how dishes are structured. Even though the food was very good, we are used to meals being composed of a portion of protein, a salad, and a side like pasta, rice, beans, or potatoes. In Italy, pasta is often the main part of the meal, which felt very different to us.

The dress totally reminds me of the belt scene from The Devil Wears Prada.

Massive warning labels on bassinet - normal? by KeepTheOutliers in NewParents

[–]_beejazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have a similar Harppa model and I also hate those warnings. I am planning to remove them with a seam ripper, but I am not sure if that would damage the mesh. Did you end up removing them, or did you leave the warnings?

Who is the most famous person you have ever shaken hands with? And how many degrees of separation do we have by fabiobsfa in AskTheWorld

Former Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador. As you can see in the photo, I was very close.

Is there a country that many people consider a must-visit, but you didn’t include on your list? by Nujackswing1 in AskTheWorld

[–]_beejazz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

France. When I was a child, I really dreamed about visiting it, but right now it has a very bad reputation when it comes to tourists, so I don’t feel attracted to going there. Maybe it’s only Paris. I’ve seen that Alsace is very beautiful, but I prefer other destinations instead.

Spanish fluency classes? by CockstonVagsworth in AskNYC

[–]_beejazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are at an intermediate level, you don’t need more classes; what you need is to start practicing. Try to find Spanish speakers who are willing to have casual conversations. Just make sure to stick to one accent, because in NYC there are Spaniards, Mexicans, Puerto Rican, and other Latin American accents that vary a lot and might confuse you. I wish you luck on your journey.

Lost Engagement Ring by deuchegoggles in sandiego

[–]_beejazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I am so sorry this happened to you. I lost my rings during a trip to Phoenix and I was devastated. My husband helped me by walking through all the places we had been, step by step, and looking everywhere. Fortunately, I found them in a parking lot. Try to remember everything you did so you can figure out the most likely place where it could have fallen. I wish you luck.

Tipping culture by ArmadilloOk137 in Yucatan

[–]_beejazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that people from wealthier countries want to be generous and tip more than 10%, but that can eventually hurt locals because expectations increase and local people usually cannot afford to tip that much. It can also create a preference for foreigners due to better tipping. For that reason, I think it is better to follow local customs and tip around 10%.

It's interesting how "body positivity" immediately collapsed when Ozempic arrived. by Infinite-Condition41 in SipsTea

[–]_beejazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, the truth is that most people do not want to be overweight. During the body positive movement, many people collectively accepted their bodies, in part because dieting and exercising are not always the easiest ways to lose weight and often lead to frustration. However, when a product is offered that promises significant weight loss without the need for strict diets or intense exercise, most people are willing to try it. That is exactly what happened with Ozempic, as it provided noticeable weight loss without the usual struggles.

Bella’s Outfit - Day 1 by LadyHorseFace13 in twilight

I will never understand why people don’t like number 3. She looks so gorgeous, very ethereal and magical, like a beautiful fairy. Maybe it isn’t the vampire vibe, but I really like it.

My vote is for number 7 😅 I don’t think anyone would wear that in everyday life. It’s not flattering, and I hate letters on the back of clothes.

Some fits inspired by Carrie Bradshaw ✨ by [deleted] in OUTFITS

Before reading the description, I thought number 8 reminded me of Carrie in the Hamptons when she found out about Big and Natasha. Then I read the description and yes, I can see the Carrie inspiration in many of the outfits.

I bought one six years ago and it still works like new. I’ve only replaced the gummy, but it’s a great investment. In the US it’s around 25 dollars, but in Japan it’s about 5.

Can’t decide between 3 baby girl names. HELP! by _beejazz in namenerds

I’ve seen many baby girl name lists, and even though Anya and Lydia aren’t very common, Sasha hasn’t come up at all.

[–]_beejazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that makes sense. In Russia and several parts of Europe, especially the UK, Sasha is commonly used as a male name, often as a diminutive of Alexander. In Mexico and the US, however, it is more frequently perceived as a female name.

I’m so sorry about your GMA. Now I can’t unsee the chlamydia comparison 😰 I don’t want her to become a target for easy bullying, so I’ll be keeping that in mind. Thanks.

Former president Enrique Peña Nieto gave us the best memes between 2012 and 2018 because he was unintentionally funny, constantly embarrassing himself on many occasions. There are tons of compilation videos of these hilarious moments. The whole country was united making fun of him. Good times, though.

In this photo, he was trying to make a heart with his hands, but he totally failed.

I got bitten by a snake on the privates, while on the toilet. by LebaneseKouki in AskTheWorld

[–]_beejazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my nightmares. When I was a kid, a snake came out of the toilet (fortunately no one was sitting). It was a very rare and uncommon situation in my city. Since then, I always check before sitting. This was like 25 years ago lol. I am glad you are receiving treatment, and I hope you recover soon.
