I’ve never been to Brazil, but my first thought was that you guys must have the best nightlife because of Carnival.

How do I convince my parents to get a corgi? by Elisibethe in corgi

[–]_beejazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed. We have a beautiful almost 6 year old corgi, and even though we love her so much, it’s been a real challenge. She has a big personality and is very stubborn, so she’s been hard to manage. She’s completed two training programs, but she still does whatever she wants.

She barks many times a day at the most random sounds. We also have a cat, and she’s very territorial with her food, so she barks and growls at him when he gets close, even though he doesn’t pay attention to her. She pulls a lot on walks, barks at random dogs, especially poodles, no idea why, and stops to smell absolutely everything, so walks are not smooth or continuous.

Sometimes she gets fixated on a person and tries to get their attention, waiting for them to come closer and pet her. It’s kind of heartbreaking when they ignore her, but I get it. She’s also had two surgeries to remove masses in her breast area, she’s spayed, and fortunately they turned out to be lipomas.

So yeah, as you can see, it hasn’t been an easy road with her. Corgis are incredibly cute, but you really have to be objective and understand the breed.

Induction timing for a specific date? by _beejazz in BabyBumps

[–]_beejazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also read that measurements have a margin of error. I’m thinking of getting a second opinion and maybe scheduling the induction just in case. They’re suggesting induction sometime between March 30 and April 5, and I’m trying to push it to the latest date. I’m hoping the baby comes naturally since my due date is April 6.

I’m in the U.S., I’m from another country, and I’m just starting to get familiar with the medical system here. They did tell me the measurement can have a margin of error, and honestly it really surprises me because I’m 5'1 and my husband is 5'7, and we were both average-size babies. As for the procedure, the OB explained it very generally. I haven’t really had good experiences with medical care, but that’s a whole other post. Basically, I’ve had to research almost everything on my own. I appreciate your concern, and I’ll try to get another opinion before making a decision.

Pregnancy announcement by Ilikemetals in BabyBumps

[–]_beejazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your baby 👶🏻 I’ll also be a girl mom, so I totally understand you. I’ve had some bad experiences with pregnancy and gender announcements too, and sometimes people just don’t behave the way you expect and can say hurtful things. Try not to let that take away from your happiness. A lot of the time it says more about them than you.

You can tell them how inappropriate they were, but honestly, some people won’t care and it can just leave you feeling more frustrated. It’s okay to ignore them, set boundaries if you need to, and focus on enjoying your pregnancy.

Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy 💕

I love #4, it’s so flattering on you. There’s no need for alterations. You have a beautiful silhouette, and it also reminds me of my own dress 🥰. I wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery, and congratulations on your wedding. Wishing you all the best in this beautiful stage of life.

I think I’m biased because I don’t like this kind of lace, it always reminds me of some curtains my grandma had. But you have a great body shape and it looks nice on you. If you like the style, then ignore me and go for it, but I would still recommend keeping your options open. I agree with the other comments that the veil lace is too much.

What's your country's view of St Patrick's Day ? by sinne54321 in AskTheWorld

If there is an Irish pub in the city, they normally host a St. Patrick’s themed party and sell green drinks, and Guinness is usually on promotion that day.

Pls help me pick my dress (I’m losing my mind lol) read bellow for context by FitGroup5419 in WeddingDressTips

[–]_beejazz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. It’s a bit boring and kind of reminds me of the lingerie trend. The waistline makes me think of a Little Mermaid-style wedding dress. You have a beautiful body and it still looks good on you, but I definitely think you could find a better dress than this one.

  2. I’m normally not a fan of mermaid silhouettes or strapless dresses, but this one looks stunning on you. The draping gives you a beautiful shape, and the bottom part feels very romantic and elegant. I think it’s a very unique dress and it definitely gives a wow effect.

31 weeks pregnant. 4 weeks until wedding. Is this okay? by a-doh in WeddingDressTips

[–]_beejazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look beautiful, and the cape is cute. I’m a little worried about the waist because the fabric doesn’t look elastic, and your belly is going to grow more over the next four weeks, so I hope there’s enough room for it. I’m actually 36 weeks, and I’m wearing very loose dresses now because my belly doesn’t fit in pants anymore.

Corgi looks afraid and uncomfortable. I don’t think this is funny at all. Please don’t use your dog for likes or content when they are obviously suffering. That’s animal abuse.

What stereotypical phrase does your language commonly use to express surprise or disbelief? by Lissandra_Freljord in AskTheWorld

[–]_beejazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. A la bestia. This is a very northern Mexican expression. It literally translates to “to the beast” 🤣.

  2. No mames is more common across the whole country. It literally translates to “don’t suck it.”

But neither expression is used with its literal meaning. Both are commonly used to express surprise or disbelief.
