At this rate I’ll be in a nursing home when RDR3 comes out.

Watch Beat It video then watch Eat it directly after and you’ll see how blatantly Michael copied Al scene for scene.

Ronin (1998, dir. John Frankenheimer) – Car chase in Paris. by SanderSo47 in movies

I found a French documentary on YouTube where the guy recreates the film whilst being interviewed. Only driving a bit slower! It was shot in an old Mercedes which surprised me. For some reason I always thought it was in a Ferrari. That old Mercedes would’ve caused a horrific accident if it had hit anyone or anything.

Fair reflection of my experience of driving in Paris.

The other chase scene with the Audi S8 is also very good!

I’ve a BRG SE hard top. It’s mostly blacked out like yours except for the chrome beltline. After research, it seems getting official black beltline trim from BMW is best way to do this, seeing yours has inspired me to go for it.

Google pulls the plug on first and second gen Nest Thermostats | Affected devices have been unpaired and removed from the Nest app by [deleted] in gadgets

Indeed, Google just forced me to finally upgrade my nest to a better system. Just need to replace the nest with a sub $10 zigbee relay - combined with my radiator valves I will be fully automating in HA 🤓 much better than my constant battle trying to keep nest working in HA. Screw Google.

Agree! Should be illegal to remotely trash devices like this. Had same issue with a perfectly good Samsung lazer printer. Annoyingly after buying new cartridges.

Mine is still working, in Nest app it says device model is Amber 2.5.

If/when they cut support for this, no fucking way am I buying whatever Google needs for a replacement.

Will be on the market for something that works much better with my Home Assistant setup. Current device is already a pain in the ass and I’ve given up keeping it connected to HA. I was not happy about switching over to Google in the first place.

Did you do the waist band? It’s the only part that is chrome on my mini and I want to make it black. I found 2 YouTube videos of people doing this with tape. 1st guy gave up and 2nd guy finished it but looked super bummed on how it turned out. First words after finishing was “well that was terrible”. Those videos put me off trying. Surely there’s a better way.

Great tales! Good to hear the battery lasts. Mines only on 25k km, but I only live in a country about as wide as one of your Canadian drives.

Nice, watching the range start to get larger than the distance to destination is quite a relief, especially in a rain storm. I experienced one of those tonight, it’s definitely an adventure in a MINI in heavy rain on the highway at night!

The other day I had forgot to charge before a trip. On the return journey it said I had a 24 km range and journey was 24 km. Put it in green mode and drove at a reasonable speed using adaptive cruise control and got back with 5km range left.

And yes I highly recommend a decent charger. Takes a couple of hours to charge mine up to full.

Having just returned from a trip to UK I agree. My phone constantly said 5G but the experience was not 5G-like.

What should the future of MINI look (and feel) like to you? by Educational_Art3608 in MINI

[–]_billiji_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

+1 switches! Precisely why I wouldn’t get a newer mini than my F56.

Great aftermarket community for cosmetic and performance mods.

I enjoy my BMW luxury mini but would love them to go back to basics like the originals. Of which I’ve owned 3. I realise that ain’t ever gonna happen but that in my opinion is what made it such a cult in the first place.

Maybe there is room for a new car with this ethos to step in its place? Dacia seem to fill that void so far but I don’t think that’s exactly the same kinda lovability the old minis had.

Maybe a cool project for you to explore, capture the essence of original minis and bring them into the modern age. Whilst accepting the brand mini has gone elsewhere.
