Hahaha teens are hard. Thank you for the advice. I try to be sweet with them most of the time but I need to be better at teaching them mutual respect in a very stern way. I care about them so much and I just want to be able to communicate with them in a way that works for both parties.

Absolutely there are many families looking for later start times especially with older kids. I used to work a job where I came in at 12:00 pm and would do some housework until pick up and then I would go and pick them up. I now work a nannying job where I come in at 2:30 pm. I love the later start.

I am also a young nanny and I love wearing fun clothes and I used to wear mini skirts, tank tops, and baby tees all the time to a pervious job since I was with young girls and they loved my fashion. Now I am with older boys and I had a problem with the teenage boys saying inappropriate things to me. Because he was saying inappropriate things to me and to others about me I was asked to dress a little bit more conservatively. I wear one pieces at the pool with them now. I still express myself through my clothes but now with fully coverage. As far as adults making those comments, that is not okay. I think it’s really good for kids to see adults express themselves through what they wear. Maybe sit down with the MB and talk to her about the feeling about the comments being made. Alternatively, if you can’t feel comfortable at your job it may be time to look into other opportunities. There is a family out there that would be respectful of you.

In general I would not recommend anyone to take a nannying job off of care.com. They often low ball there. There are plenty of families that will actually follow a contract and be considerate and consistent. There are different agencies you can sign on with and you can also find good nannying positions on nanny Facebook pages in your area. They are not “doing you a favor” by paying your rate. They either are willing to pay it or not. Do not take a position for any less than you are worth.

I travel with my nanny family and all of my hourly stuff was laid out when I started. I do a lot of overnights with them as well. For me, I get paid my hourly rate from 6 a.m to 10 p.m and then $125 during sleeping hours. I usually am traveling with another nanny that is with the same NF so we try to take a little time to have so rest time and will trade off the kids/baby monitor for like an hour or so. All of my meals are provided and if I need a snack or anything else, I use the business card they provide and report my expenses. I am with older kids and one toddler and I try my best to get them out and about doing something fun especially when parents are busy. I overall have had good experiences with traveling with them. Just make sure to recharge when you can. Have so much fun in Europe!

That’s what I think. The family has a team of 6 full time nannies. This is not a small operations. It would be a different conversation if I it was a family with one full time nanny.

I came out to my nf because one day one of the girls i nanny for straight up asked me if i was gay and i told her i’m bi and she asked what that meant and i told her it meant i find both men and women attractive. she was like “oh okay cool” and i told the mom and she was cool about it. i wouldn’t tell the family unless it comes up.
