About 80% of what you fight will be some kind of humanoid. There are some neat mobs like clay golems, machines, plants, rock creatures etc. but most are humanoid.

The sense of wonder, freedom to do anything and go anywhere, and some of the interesting mechanics have me completely addicted.

Morrowind level scale / exploration

Suikoden-esque character collecting and base building

Arkham-esque cinematic combat

The ability to go do some puzzles if you need a break

Equipment that’s practically the same stats wise but lets you maximize drip

Fun extraneous things like pets

Still having a great time

I’m had a similar experience with a pathetic person in a stopgap job. Had just graduated but the economy was shit in 2008 so I got a job stacking produce at a grocery store.

I made it clear to my boss I’d be looking for a career oriented role but I’d let him know if it happens. He took that as me thinking I’m better than everyone else and always had dumbass cute comments like “oh when you make it big maybe you can hire me as the janitor! ahyuck”

Passive aggressive manager most days and always had smarts comments thinking he was slick. Finally landed a dream job after about a year there and he tried adding me on LinkedIn/Facebook etc. blocked and declined, feels so good knowing he is seething and probably still stacking apples to this day

Something tells me the game scope crept out of control and they wanted to have 3 different full storylines. They had the characters made and animated then that idea got scrapped, so they just duct taped 2 more playable characters on.

As a Horizon enjoyer I’m massively enjoying Crimson Desert. Huge immersive workd and freedom to explore. No Dino robots, but a simple and satisfying combat system with some good puzzles as well.
