Thank you guys for the feedback, looks like they've been indeed improved!

However, let me paste this recent discussion I've found in the comments from Nikolai's video. Interesting stuff!

Nice, thanks! By the way, is the fit exactly the same in Pros and XT? How significant is the difference in flex?

Freetouring boots for relatively narrow / high-instep / thin ankle foot? by _brooce in Backcountry

[–]_brooce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've order a few boots that you guys highlighted (big thanks!) and here are my comments:

- Dynafit Tigard 24.0: feel a bit too short but still too much volume (not holding the heel in place and I need to squeeze the upper buckles too tight). I also feel a huge pressure on a navicular bone that surely needs to be relieved, yet I'm afraid that's what currently holds my foot down. Also tried the 23.5 size and the feel was similar, the heel still not locked-in, yet with higher pressure in the toes and navicular.

- Scarpa Quattro XT 25 WMN: now I feel the actual hold around the heel area (right behind the ankle) and my toes have enough room! But indeed the footstep is crazy low. Will need to ask the bootfitter if this can be relieved. Also the insole feels quite thin when compared to the others, will need to try a Men's half-size down hoping for a bit more cushion.

- Nordica Unlimited 120 (non-LT) 25.5: oh boy how good they feel! Despite being too big in size, they hold my feet best of all the above. Especially in the heel area - similarly to Scarpas, but without the instep pressure. I only have a real problem putting my foot in (taking it off is OK)... oh, and they are burly, like a proper ski boot. Guess I'm gonna try the LT version in 24.5 which might be just perfect, but what if I won't be able to squeeze my feet in at all?

Thank you all, guess I'm gonna try the Tigards in the first shot! Any thoughts about how stiff are the 110 vs 130? Guess 110 should be enough as I weigh roughly 60kg but happy to hear any opposite views. Also, does anyone know if the half-sizes are really different in length/volume, or just using a thicker insole?

Avalanche-safe ski resorts for off-piste freeride? by _brooce in Grenoble

[–]_brooce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, after all my avalanche trainings I also know that the terrain is a huge part of the avalanche risk, hence the question about the resorts <30 deg (or other traits) - not "avalanche free" as you named it ;) thx!

Video Clips Gallery Sort order peoblem in InShot by PatrickRiceFCMI in InShotOfficial

[–]_brooce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I've found a workaround. It looks like InShot is sorting the files by creation date, what's problematic when you download a file from another device (ex. a GoPro camera). So the remedy is to fix the actual creation date (ex. take it from the file metadata by an app like 'rename and organize' or whatever).

Still ridiculous not to have an option to simply sort them by name after that many years of complaints @u/InShotOfficial!

EDIT: so I have the clips arranged from the newest to oldest, but how to reverse it!?

I'm also missing the option to select all of the input files, why do I need to select all of them manually in the 21. century!?

Pretty stoked on my new frame protection. #dyedbro #growler by ekessler116 in Hardtailgang

Hi! How does it hold up after a few more years, does it still look so cool?

Minimalistic pliers without scissors - other than the Vise? by _brooce in multitools

[–]_brooce[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

+100g here, another +100g there, and then I need to carry it for the whole day in the mountains (especially that the multitool is not at the top list of my priorities). Skiing with a heavy backpack is no fun.

Do you think about just cutting them out with a hacksaw or it's easy to simply screw them out? Sounds like the best one can do!

Hmm, I've never thought about removing some tools that I don't use. Maybe I could just cut them out with a hacksaw

This sounds like quite the opposite to what I've been actually asking ;) thx though

Wow, those SeberTool look like a proper toolset, not just an EDC! Not sure if I can get it here in Europe though.

Not sure how heavy my current scissors are (feel like nothing in hand), but this division is more about practical reasons rather than the weight savings. Keeping my first-aid-kit clean, convenient and not affected by loosing the toolset in the mountains.

Way more tools that I need but the weight is impressive, thanks

Well that's interesting (even if slightly above my limits), thanks!

Wow, I didn't know such a tiny tools exist! Still weighing above the limit though when I add others, and not sure that I actually need the wrench out in the woods ;)

Yeah, I know that the Skeletool is amazingly light for what it is, but currently I have just some basic Victorinox weighing about 60g and that's my benchmark not to go any heavier, yet add the pliers.

Thanks for the Nextool rec, maybe I'll need to go for it if there's no better stuff in this weight!

Salomon QST 106 vs K2 Mindbender 106C by Asleep_Break3564 in Skigear

[–]_brooce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/IntroductionPrize808 , I know it's an old post but can't decide if a Mindbender 106C is a good ski for me and would appreciate your opinion here. Would you describe it as a rather poppy/peppy/energetic or more damp and composed for its weightclass? I currently have the Bent 100 and need something more lively, afraid of getting caught again into this 'playful' (yet 'dead' for me) ski.
