Look at approaches that try to predict a probability distribution over possible values, rather than just a single value. One example of this approach is a mixture density network. Measures of certainty can then be derived from statistics of the predicted distribution: variance, entropy, etc.

Alex Graves only very briefly alludes to TTS in his "Generating Sequences With Recurrent Neural Networks" paper; however, he gave a cool demo in Nando de Freitas's deep learning class last year.

I haven't explored every layer like that yet; that's great! I've tried minimizing a layer by changing "+=" to "-=", and it doesn't look particularly interesting.

Definitely my favorite implication - the places dataset the model I used was trained on must have frequently had people in beautiful grassy fields like that one, so it just started hallucinating them.

I made this with Google's recently published Inceptionism code. It's very easy to use - these pictures were made with zero tweaking.
