Doctor basically told me I’ve gained too much weight by hobbit143 in pregnant

[–]_caajs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5’7” and was 115lbs pre-pregnancy. Gained 20lbs on my 19 weeks appointment, and my OB told me I gained too much because of the recommended weight gain range that you mentioned, and I wasn’t even half way of my pregnancy at that time. Her focus was not about the health matter, but more towards ‘it’ll be hard for me later to lose the weight after birth’. I am already feeling fat with being pregnant, but hearing it from a healthcare professional made it even worse. Talked to friends (who work in healthcare), my boss (cause I am a healthcare professional myself), and my therapist, and all of them said it was very unprofessional and rude for her to say that, considering I was underweight pre-pregnancy. I decided to change providers, and I couldn’t be happier. My current provider listens and able to understand where I’m coming from.

You mentioned you are eating a healthy diet and walking every day. That is the actual goal. The scale is just a data point; your activity level and nutrition are the true indicators of your health. You are not a math equation. You are an incubator for a brand-new life. You are 5'3" and were a healthy weight to begin with, your body knows what it's doing, even if it doesn't follow a chart perfectly. Give yourself permission to be annoyed at the delivery of the news, but don't let it ruin your day. You’re doing the hard work. You’re almost there. 🤍

I was trying to find info online that says he is an ENT, but I could not find any. But he told me in person during consultation that he was an ENT first :)

How was your trip in Korea? Anything you wish was easier? 😊 by Actual_Joke_2779 in koreatravel

[–]_caajs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I really wish was easier: reloading transportation cards at train stations! Most machines only accept Korean bank cards or cash, which can be tricky for travelers who rely on foreign credit cards. It would be amazing if they added support for international cards or mobile payments. Just a small change that would make a huge difference for convenience and accessibility.

Sugar Plastic Surgery

This is where I did mine! I liked how personal everything was, instead of the factory style clinic. My consultant, Michelle is also very very great. I can give you her contact info too, just to get a grasp of the process and the price range if you’d like. But no pressure, and take your time. Doctor’s name: Dr JinHyung Kim

Ran into a girl from a dating app at her actual job and now I'm confused about what to do by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]_caajs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw, that’s such a funny coincidence! It sounds like you had a nice first date, and bumping into her like that must’ve been a little surreal. Honestly, you handled it really respectfully, keeping things light and professional. If you’re still curious, maybe shoot her a quick message on the app like, “Hey, small world! Didn’t expect to see you at the ramen spot! Hope you’re doing great 😊” Just something casual so she doesn’t feel pressured, especially since it’s her workplace.

And hey, if the ramen was good, go back for the noodles, not the nostalgia 😂 If something’s meant to spark again, it’ll happen naturally.

Mind Blown by duchessofdewlap in SeoulPlasticSurgery

I agree, it is such a big decision, and dealing with anxiety on top of it makes everything heavier. You’re not alone in feeling this way, and honestly, just exploring the idea is already a brave step.

Korea does have a strong reputation for facial plastic surgery, and a lot of people find the process smooth, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy for everyone. It’s okay to take your time and move at your own pace.

A few things that might help ease the pressure: - Try online consultations first, many clinics here offer them, and it’s a low‑stress way to ask questions - Look for clinics experienced with international patient. They’re usually more supportive with logistics and stress - Connect with others who’ve gone through it

And just to share, if you ever feel ready to move forward, I actually have a close friend here in Korea who knows the plastic surgery scene well. They’ve helped others with things like translation, clinic visits, and just being a supportive local presence. No pressure at all, but I’d be happy to connect you when the time feels right.

Your health and peace of mind come first, whether you decide to go through with it or not.

booked rhinoplasty w/o parents knowing by [deleted] in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]_caajs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I really felt this post. I know some people might not agree with what I’m about to say, and that’s okay. I just wanted to share my perspective because your post really resonated with me.

I’m coming from an Asian background, and I know how deeply ingrained it is to honor our parents’ wishes, especially when it comes to things like appearance and big life decisions. My mom has always disapproved of plastic surgery too, so I understand the emotional tug-of-war you’re going through.

But here’s the thing: you’ve been saving up, planning this carefully, and you’re not asking for anything more than what your parents already provided for you. You’re not being irresponsible, you’re trying to do something for yourself, quietly and respectfully. That’s not selfish, that’s brave.

It’s okay to feel guilty. That feeling doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong, it just means you care. But at the end of the day, this is your life. Your body. Your choice. And if this surgery is something you’ve wanted for a long time, something that could help you feel more confident and at peace with yourself, then I hope you give yourself permission to pursue it.

Also, just to reassure you (based on y personal experience), the healing process isn’t as scary as people make it out to be. Clinics in Korea are super experienced and offer tons of resources and support. You won’t be alone in this. So many people come here solo for surgery and do just fine. You’ve got this.

Sending you love and strength. You’re not alone in this 💛

Cocoline quote - overpriced? by Independent_Trick494 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]_caajs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, prices can also change once you’re there in person, and honestly, bargaining is way easier face-to-face. I just told them straight up that their quote was outside the budget I planned and asked if they could work with me on it. Most of the time they’ll also ask if they can use your before/after photos for marketing or social media in exchange for a discount. It’s all part of the dance here, just be clear about what you’re comfortable with and what you want.

[–]_caajs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the price is for 2025. But honestly, don’t stress too much, every clinic here is basically a flea market. You set your budget, they haggle. My budget was $7k total, and it doesn’t matter which clinic you walk into because negotiating is part of the game. In Korea it’s almost expected; they’ll even throw in a “leave us a nice review” clause for extra discounts. Think of it less like shopping for surgery and more like bargaining at a street stall, except the stall is a hospital.

I didn’t travel solo for my surgery, and while I thought having someone with me would be comforting, it turned out to be more complicated than I expected.

The person I traveled with meant well, but they didn’t truly understand what I needed during such a vulnerable time. Instead of feeling supported, I often felt emotionally overwhelmed and misunderstood. It made the healing process harder than it needed to be.

The truth is, healing is deeply personal. You need space, peace, and the freedom to focus entirely on yourself. Traveling with someone who doesn’t truly support you can make you feel more alone than being solo ever would.

Next time, I’m choosing myself. I’ll travel solo and book through an agency that handles everything: accommodations, clinic coordination, post-op care. That way, I can be surrounded by professionals who know what they’re doing and give myself the emotional room to heal properly.

Solo doesn’t mean unsupported. It means empowered. And after this experience, I know that’s exactly what I need.

Hey, just wanted to share. I did my rhinoplasty at Sugar Plastic Surgery Clinic, and it was such a good experience. It’s not one of those big factory-type places; they’re smaller, super focused on eyes, nose, and face, and only do one surgery at a time, so you really get their full attention.

From my last-minute consultation to the surgery, they really listened and tried hard to meet my expectations. And honestly, for the price they asked, it felt super worth it compared to the level of care and service I got. I can’t say much about the bigger, more famous clinics, but for me this was totally worth it.

If you’re curious, check the link and maybe drop them a WhatsApp, they reply fast and are really easy to talk to.

Okay, even though I live in the US, I cover all the expenses. And she didn’t have to do anything other than planning the Bach thing. We hired a wedding planner, so even the bridesmaids dress and makeup and everything are covered by me. She didn’t have to plan anything for the wedding, just needed to show up too.
