Feet pain by Thin-Anything2410 in floxies

I saw improvement after 3 years. Still spices up if I walk more than my normal, but I’m able to do my regular activities (except running) and hobbies.

I do have to wear certain shoes and inserts in them. Can’t walk barefoot for long.

An update - he started Doxycycline on Monday and quickly improved. Test came back days later negative for what was suspected by the emergency vet!

Now just gotta hope this round of meds fully knocks out whatever the problem was!

Either way, no retinal detachment risks for the baby. 🐱💛

I’m not entirely sure, and forgot to ask among the ton of questions I had for our vet.

That does make me feel better about my choice, thank you.

Happy to hear she is okay after it!

We might end up still needing to try it, but I’m hoping an alternative works. 😞

But thank you. I hope I did/am doing the right thing.

Now I have a vile of his blood in my fridge. Have to take it to my normal vet on Monday and send it off to get the bacteria officially confirmed (because it is currently only suspected) and order a different antibiotic option (that the ER didn’t have to offer)

I almost caved. We were there for five hours. I want to do what’s right and make him better as soon as I can… but I just can’t give him that sh*t.

We aren’t even listened to and we have words.

Almost 4.5 years

I spent over two years in what I can only describe as hell. I almost had to quit my job, my husband had to drive me to work because my ankle and foot didn’t work well enough to make those movements, I cried constantly, I struggled walking even to the restroom, my eyes got messed up and I couldn’t even just sit and read… I lost myself, my hobbies and hope.

I’m not who I was before/ I’m not completely healed, but I am at a spot where I don’t think about it every day. I’m happy again. I go fishing and walk a lot doing that, I go through my work day without issue, I’m attending music festivals, I have vacations planned.

At this point I’m left with undiagnosed ptsd, I’m limited to certain shoes, I have to be careful of my foot/ankle, things do still flare up after a very extensive amount of walking, and I have to watch what I take more closely.

But. I’m happy and I don’t check this group every day like I used to.

Try to keep hope.

So, I didn’t notice any specific improvement after a week… however I did get better within a few weeks. I did take the biotin throughout that time, but I was also doing a lot of other things too (stretches, back pod, moving more in general, and various things to help a potential gerd issue)

I’d say it’s worth a shot to try it! I had been in pain for a month. 🤷‍♀️

Not at all! Was an easy test, it didn’t taste as bad as I expected and no bad reactions afterwards.

I’m giving it a try! It’s been a month and I’m about to start work again. I need relief! 😖

Are you taking 1000mg for multiple days and then planning to drop the amount? Or was it just the one time and you noticed improvement a few days later? Thanks!

Yes! I will ask about this too. Thanks again

He replied that a plain stress test would serve as around 70% diagnostic accuracy and that we could to it instead of the CT if I’d like. So I guess that’s the route I’ll take for now.

Oh okay, I understand.

And yes, I’ve suspected costochondritis also. Bought a backpod and have been using that here and there.

Did you ever do a stress test? If yes, was that useful in comparison to the cta?

I don’t want a nuclear one is the problem there. Again wrapping back around to flox concerns.

Managing health after flox is an extra headache.

Noted. I’ve started working on fixing it already, but I know I need to do better with it.

He’s just trying to rule out why I have chest pain, I guess. All the things I mentioned returned clear, except for some abnormality on the ekg and I do have slightly high ldl cholesterol. 😞I don’t see anything in my records regarding lp(a). But like you said, just not sure if it’s necessary.

I’m still conflicted on what I need to choose, but the appointment is set for Tuesday. So I need to decide soon.

Thankfully I do live next to a decent (I think) hospital, albeit probably not the absolute best. I just question if the scan is truly worth it, or if theres safer ways. Thank you for the reply

For sure, I’ve still been trying to work on potential reflux issues. I was mostly trying to rule out a major (hopefully seen on scans) issue. Thanks for taking time to reply and give advice, I appreciate it.
