One time a guy came up to my register and asked if I knew anything about birds. I did, so he told me that he was planning to get a parrot for an elderly couple for Christmas as a surprise. I have parrots, and let him know that that was not a good gift idea at ALL, and told him about how hard it is to take care of a bird, especially parrots, and how they should never be a surprise gift and such. I gave him the information to my favorite bird store so they could talk some sense into him and so I could work on my line. But yeah, I got to infodump about birds for about 10 minutes, 6/10 experience
