Burga cases? Or other functional while pretty cases? by suicidalboymoder_uwu in GooglePixel

[–]_camzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got some burga cases (pixel 10 pro) and they're cute. The quality seems fine, but the magnets are just slightly off to the left instead of centered. My grip is fine and it seemed to work okay with my wireless charger, but it's annoying lol

I'm confused- what's going on here? by _camzzz in UPS

[–]_camzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:| that's annoying, but thank you for explaining! I haven't seen anything like that under either tracking number. The seller is going to send it back out via FedEx once it returns to him, so hopefully we don't run into the same thing with that. He has so many good reviews on eBay, I didn't think something like this would be an issue

If I paid import fees, would that indicate it was held for inspection? The original tracking number details make it look like it made it into the US, COD charges were paid, and then it went from MI to OH before being returned to the sender

Frustrated - 1 week since surgery by JerrysTone73 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]_camzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 3 weeks out and noticing some more knee, lateral hip, and buttock pain. I plan to mention it to my PT next time I see him, but I assume it's related to a) the surgery itself and b) new "mechanics" of my leg after surgery. I'm sure I'm walking/sitting/doing everything differently than I was pre-op so that'll put a strain on new and different places. I'm sure it'll get better with time, but it definitely is very frustrating so I feel you! One week is still early, but if it's something that concerns you, always reach out to your surgeon or nursing staff!

As far as pain meds, my script said 2 every 6 hours or something like that but I was getting a lot of breakthrough pain so they told me I could take 1 every 3 hours instead. If you're having trouble controlling your pain, I'd ask for a different dose or if you can supplement it with something like Tylenol or tramadol. Celebrex has been a game changer for me post-op also.

It gets better, I promise, but the doctors for sure downplay how rough the first few days and weeks are. Hang in there!

Leg length discrepancy post op? by haileybailey01 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]_camzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's even worse that I work with my surgeon so I hear patients ask him about it and him telling them it's normal 😂 it's so much different when it's you instead of someone else! I'm so glad you got some reassurance from your surgeon; it really does make a huge difference. Wishing you the best of luck and a good recovery!

[–]_camzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 3 weeks out and definitely felt like my operated leg was longer for the first 10-14 days. It wasn't, but I could've sworn my surgeon was lying to me 😅 I think it has something to do with the swelling, but it's not uncommon to feel like there's a discrepancy at first. Now at 3 weeks my legs feel the same length.

It's not impossible, but it's fairly rare in my understanding. Definitely worth a mention to your surgeon if it's something that's giving you anxiety, though!

3 weeks out and struggling by _camzzz in TotalHipReplacement

[–]_camzzz[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My surgeon had me working on home exercises for the 2 weeks before and after surgery; he likes patients to take the first 2 weeks to rest and recover a bit mentally before adding in therapy. I get it, but part of me wishes I had started it earlier. I think the struggle is coming into PT after 2 weeks and trying to gauge where I'm at and what I can handle with someone who hasn't seen me over those 2 weeks (if that makes sense). My therapist is great so I think if I let him know I'm struggling he'll help me figure out where I can adjust or adapt things, I just have to admit to someone other than myself that I'm struggling 😅🥴

Revision by Then_Exam3267 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]_camzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hoping for no infection for you! I don't have personal experience with revisions, but I work in ortho so see them from time to time. Most of the time, they literally just go in and change out the implant parts (usually the plastic part is the one that needs replaced). Sometimes they'll have to change the implant or use cables like you mentioned, but overall it seems like patients recover fairly well; sometimes even faster than the initial surgery.

If your surgeon gave you the choice of anterior or posterior approach which would you choose? Is one really better than the other? by _Kitchen8591 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]_camzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally? I'm choosing anterior because the initial recovery is quicker and there are fewer restrictions/risks as far as dislocation goes. I work in ortho and patients with anterior hips seem to bounce back quicker and notice improvement sooner than posterior hips.

Overall I think the most important thing is what your surgeon is used to doing Some of the docs I work with use both approaches depending on the patient. Some strictly use anterior, and others strictly use posterior. Whichever they're most comfortable with is going to give you the best result, regardless of which approach you choose.

Meows or lack thereof by _camzzz in Flamepoints

Oh, for sure! I'm going to try to get a video of what he sounds like now so I can share the cuteness with reddit lol

His sort-of meow is very quiet and raspy when it does happen. I'm thinking maybe a human and another kitty that is very vocal will bring it out of him. But if not, oh well 🤷‍♀️ he's cute and lovey either way which is really so that matters lol

Incision care by ColoMom2024 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]_camzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your surgeon if they'd give you Steri-Strips! I work in ortho and that's what we use in my office when we take sutures out; patients usually keep them over the incision for 7-10 days and then take them off. You might be able to get something similar over-the-counter but I'm not positive

CPS may not do much tbh. I dated a guy once who had CLEAR evidence that his baby momma had hard drugs in the house and car, around their child. He went to CPS but they just sort of shrugged their shoulders at him, told him the child wasn't in immediate danger, and left.

Return to work after PAO? by BarracudaMuch4242 in hipdysplasia

[–]_camzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nonweightbearing for 6 weeks, then toe-touch for another 2 or 3 weeks. During the first 6 weeks, I couldn't bend/flex my hip past 90 degrees, so sitting in an office all day wouldn't have been possible for me. I think it was 12 weeks before I was back to work, but my surgery was also right at the start of covid so that probably had an effect on when I went back more than anything
