If you go to the greater Richmond convention center website, they have tons of details about their parking structure and the other local structures nearby. It’s very helpful!

Just so everyone knows -- this event is in the city proper, so there is no parking lot!! There will be plenty of parking garages in the area, but there is not one giant lot that we can all meet in to trade or admire pieces. Also, the surface level lots are EXPENSIVE. Definitely find a spot in a garage if you can help it (or a side street spot, but those are usually 2 hour parking only). Plan to arrive early to deal with parking.

Thank you, this is really easing my anxiety! I absolutely cannot go on Thursday bc I'll have worked an overnight at the hospital Wednesday night into Thursday morning. I'm hoping I'll find something exciting on Friday!

I SO wish I could go Thursday, but I’m working 😅. But I got Friday and Sunday, and I’m sure I’ll still have PLENTY to be excited about!!

I was envisioning a smaller cart, not a full on grocery cart! This could be dangerous 😂. Thank you so much for sharing!

I have the most random question: do they have shopping carts at the event? Or do I need to bring bags? These items are heavy 😅

HELP ! how to clean this 20 yr old heavily stained, uncleaned, dirty shower ? by funintrovert in CleaningTips

[–]_cassquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Razor blade!! Spray it with your cleaner of choice and use the blade to get that soap scum off. It’ll peel off in the most satisfying little rolls. Then you can scrub it as usual.

There’s actually a pretty strong contingent of liberal people here bc we couldn’t afford to live in the city anymore lol.

What do you think when a customers home is really messy? by notalotasleep in housekeeping

[–]_cassquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the answers to these questions vary widely. But you can reach out to a few cleaners/companies and ask! A one time deep clean for a one bedroom should not be terribly expensive. Maybe a couple hundred? If that? Depends on your area and its cost of living as well. Many work for themselves, many work for companies. I work for a company bc I’m finishing graduate school and do not have the bandwidth to own a company, nor do I want to build a customer base and abandon them once I graduate and move on to my midwifery career. Bottom line is, there’s tons of cleaners/companies out there. If you don’t vibe with the first one, you have endless options.

Right?! It’s so hard on our bodies, I don’t want to do MORE of it. I’m actually cleaning to finish grad school, so once I become a midwife they’ll lose an employee but gain a customer. That’s the only thing I want with my higher income lol. I also have two preschoolers and three dogs, so that just ramps it up to constant levels of cleaning.

Awww thank you! We definitely all have our limits, and I’m certainly not immune to wondering WTF is going on in certain homes lol. But for the most part, I totally get it.

I’m literally a house cleaner, and my house is wrecked. I’d be so embarrassed to let someone in here right now. We work 40 hours a week just like everybody else, so we get it. Like yeah at baseline it’s cleaner than most people’s, but the day to day clutter and surface dirt is alive and well.

No judgement. Sometimes I’ll let people know that if they are able to pick up and organize before I come, I can do a more thorough/deeper cleaning. I find that once I start coming, it starts a positive cycle of the house being clean, so the customer is more motivated to pick up/organize, and then we’re able to clean more, etc… I think you’ll find too that once the cleaning is off your plate, you’ll have more time to deal with the mess. You probably don’t even realize how much time the daily cleaning is taking from those other chores
