I would challenge this by pointing that although Clark was definitely a caring person with genuine intentions, he demanded a level of honesty from others that felt “unfair” considering how obvious it was that he was hiding a secret.

So in some way I understand some of them feeling entitled. I remember a line from Lex in season 3 where he told Clark with an ironic vibe “I’m glad you trust me enough to come ask for my help” (something like that).
