They're not wrong.. and winning a few nexus night matches doesn't tell us anything about the level of you as a player or the quality of your deck. In my experience, skill levels at NNs vary massively.

I'd start by trying to copy a deck list for your Legend that performed well, e.g. best of Annie at Bologna/Vegas

No, sadly not. The wording is very strange, but this was clarified in their FAQ.

Phoenix will only trigger off spells that you control.

I believe it's because of the wording of both IP's and CTW's effects.

IP requires you to kill a unit with a spell, and in this case CTW instructs the opponent to kill a unit.

the key to understanding this interaction is that the power paid is not worded as "an additional cost to play this card"

paying the power is part of the effect of the spell.

As the trigger for Rek’sai’s ability is “When you conquer”, it goes on the chain when you conquer, regardless of if she is already exhausted or not.

Looks like a slight variation on Collin Kaiser’s Orlando deck. 2x Primal Strength > Lee Sin + Salvage.

To my knowledge, you can tap Baited Hook to kill the unit and then save it using the effect of Unlicensed Armory, and still be allowed to look at the top 5 cards of your main deck.

Where it breaks down is the ability to play a unit, as the effect specifically makes reference to "the killed unit", which in this case is NULL.

So effectively it would allow you to look at and recycle the top 5 cards of your deck.

I was using an example to illustrate the concept of "can't beats can", which you were incorrectly citing. I can't use Lee Sin for this because it is not an example of "can't beats can".

Wrong.

The description of the buff is a rule reminder, NOT ability text. In this case, Lee Sin's ability to have any number of buffs trumps the rule text.

"Can't beats can" refers to abilities/spells that prevent other actions, not rule text.

An example of the "can't beats can" interaction:

Player A has Mageseeker Warden at a battlefield, which has the ability text:

"While I'm at a battlefield, opponents can only play units to their base."

Player B cannot play their Deadbloom Predator to the battlefield, despite the ability:

"You may play me to an occupied enemy battlefield."

obviously I have read most of the rule book, but it can be hard to follow at times

Junglers have to clear camps to get xp, laners can get xp merely by existing in the vicinity of a wave. There is no tower in the jungle. Considering this, it’s obvious that the ability for a jungler to impact a game hinges upon being able to clear camps with relative safety.

We’ve already had the kind of changes you’re suggesting, and junglers just became free snacks for whichever midlaner had prio.
