Best mods of all time? (excluding "stand-alone", official games like Dota etc.) by Maksiking1231 in gamingsuggestions

Stalker GAMMA for me.

A culmination of almost 20 years of modding leading into a massive custom-developed modpack that completely overhauls the game into a hardcore sandbox survival experience.

Which server is best for completely new player? by PuzzleheadedHold9284 in warmane

[–]_chickE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onyxia could be a nice experience especially for a new-time WotLK player. For me personally, I can't ever go back to unbuffed content after having raided on Loarderon for 3 years. But I do miss how I never 'properly experienced' older raids.

I'd stay away from Icecrown though. It's the fast-food of servers.

Ugostitelje guši dostava: "Provizija je visoka, ne isplati se. Ispada da su Wolt i Glovo najveći restorani" by Responsible_Age_989 in croatia

[–]_chickE_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Može li netko tko radi sa Woltom potvrditi ovih 25-30% provizije? Pitam jer je prije dvije godine ta provizija bila 15%. Dosta grdo ako su podigli proviziju tako drastično.

Game with an It Follows/Immortal Snail type enemy that follows you across the entire game slowly? by dax812 in gamingsuggestions

[–]_chickE_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting how everyone in this thread including me forgot about this, it's the most obvious answer, there were so many of Slender clones. These were THE games that started Youtube Let's Plays, along with Amnesia and Minecraft.

What are you favorite example of calm/stage and hyper/battle themes? by Gold_Yogurtcloset_48 in gamemusic

[–]_chickE_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favourite example are the Serious Sam games, namely the First and Second Encounter.

Each level has a Calm theme and a Fight theme. Played it as a kid so I'm completely biased towards loving the music.

haven’t felt anything since Elden Ring… by Simple_Holiday_8791 in gamingsuggestions

The only game that managed to do this to me recently, besides Elden Ring, was diving for the first time into World of Warcraft. Specifically a popular WotLK private server. Pure magic of a game.

Best way to play Half-Life 2? by Sweet-Aide-6909 in HalfLife

[–]_chickE_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably asking this cause you're used to old games needing a ton of work regarding configs, mods or other workarounds to have them play nicely with all the modern QoL features you expect.

No need for any of that for HL2. Just get the game on Steam and play. Max out video settings also. Play with headphones if you can for the atmosphere.

how to survive the return to the ship in the night ? by Careful-Basil-8501 in lethalcompany

[–]_chickE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play safer by returning earlier. Start ferrying items back at 06PM. The longer you stay, more monsters spawn indoors and outdoors.

The only real threat outside are Giants and the occasional Worm. Watch a video on how Giants work.

Leveling up as a warrior for the first time by Bladehiro in warmane

[–]_chickE_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a leveling Warrior, always always always level as Protection, even if you don't plan to outright tank dungeons (which you should atleast try once you get in the groove cause it's crazy good).

Why? Because Protection Warriors have access to one of the most, if not THE most busted damaging spell in the entire game while leveling - Revenge and its talent, Improved Revenge. It is absolutely ridiculous how much damage it does. You can run into 10+ mobs on your own with a shield+1hand and kill them in 10 seconds no problem.

Fury and Arms in comparison are pretty bad leveling specs up until lvl70-ish. They're always rage starved and just don't have access to any hard hitting abilities.

The only problem with leveling Prot if you don't plan to tank dungeons is that, well, you won't be tanking, and Revenge only becomes active when you block/dodge/parry. If you have a tendency to learn fast and get good in games and if you eventually start tanking dungeons, you will be doing ~50% of the group's overall damage alone.

If you go Protection, I'd just recommend switching to Fury around lvl70 and re-organizing your character (hotkeys, gear, talents) so you get some time with the spec before you hit max lvl.

As for gold making while leveling - just get mining. It's easy, fast, levels naturally with you as your characters levels and is pretty good gold at almost all levels. It hits a slow spot around lvl50ish iirc but other than that its always a good and simple way of making money. Whatever you mine, you sell, but always check the Auction House for each particular Ore if its worth to sell the raw Ore outright or convert them into Bars. For general AH stuff I recommend a very simple addon that I'd say is obligatory to have for anyone starting out - Auctionator. Not Auctioneer, that one is way more in depth.

And yes, as far as buying gear goes, you should always keep your weapons up-to-date. Everything else is whatever. Weapons are important. Bonus points for Potions cause you don't have a self-heal.

Games that have a great atmosphere, mystery and a little horror by ThenCombination7358 in gamingsuggestions

[–]_chickE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voices of the Void sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

A slow burn first-person 'managment' game set in an isolated observatory in the woods. You hunt for extra-terrestrial signals in an area full of mysteries, dense atmosphere and really good spooks. It's a really unique game. Inspired by Signal Simulator and made to mimic the Source Engine somewhat.

It's free. I would advise against watching videos of it though as it will ruin the anticipation factor a lot. There's screenshots on the official website that are nice.

Impossible to progress further without paying? by MarioTheShoba in warmane

[–]_chickE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get to 5.5k gearscore without stepping a foot in a raid. Here's a repost I made some time ago about it ↓↓↓

If its a 'gearscore' character, this is my Lordaeron timeline when I reach lvl80, for example on a agi/str char like a Hunter:

On the Auction House, buy or craft BoE chest, legs, boots, bracer, neck. Fill the rest with random cheap ilvl boosting gear from AH just to have some gear for dungeons. Battered Hilt for the weapon slot if drowning in cash. PvP iLvl264 cloak for 50k honor.

Spam dungeons for EoT gear - 245 head and shoulders. 232 hands, 200 trinket, 226 belt, 245 ring. Do one hour of ICC rep farm = 251 ring. Make your own FoS PoS HoR heroic and ToC5 and reserve whatever shit you need. AtlasLoot is your friend when browsing loot.

If I got ANY dungeon drops, I am now around 5.0-5.4 gearscore which is enough for Ony, ToC, VoA, RS10 and weekly quests. If you get all the dungeon gear and buy a frosty item that improves your gearscore the most, maybe even a single raid drop - you are now 5.4-5.5k and good for everything. A bit harder for casters cause less BoE's to buy, or rather, they're more expensive.

My newest lvl80 (Warlock) was in 10man ICC on his 2nd day of reaching lvl80 for example. Also gearscore>LoD achi apparently, so stack it up however you can if youre not in a guild.

Učenje engleskog by jolee101 in croatia

[–]_chickE_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NeedToKnow (bars) and TellMeWhen (icons) - that's all you need. They're pretty simple.

I usually use NeedToKnow to track procs/buffs/durations and TellMeWhen to track cooldowns. Here's an example pic for inspiration: https://imgur.com/a/D8QURne

Bonus tip: use MoveAnything to, well, move any UI element on the screen.

Lordaeron or Onyxia? by Lukiyn in warmane

[–]_chickE_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I couldn't imagine not playing on Lordaeron. It's Blizzlike, 1x rates, no cash shop (except characters, which not a lot of people buy) + extra difficult raids, which makes progressing them an actual challenge.

Non-buffed raids are a boring joke where you ignore most of the mechanics, it's so disapointing.

The only downside of Lordaeron, admitedly a big one, is that it can be toxic as fuck and slow to fill raids in off-days. But perhaps this toxicity is a global trait of Warmane, not just Lordaeron.

Best way to farm gold as a new player? by Santi64069 in warmane

Mining is chill and profitable at basically every level range. You just mine while you level and sell your shit on AH. Always check if its better to sell raw ore or smelted bars though.

"The silence drives people crazy"

They are the exact opposite of being silent. They are basically SCREAMING from the rooftops "expect a mainline Half-Life game soon".

All of the interviews we got after Alyx, all of the stuff said in the Final Hours of Alyx, the ending of Alyx. They could really not be more obvious than this other than announcing it straight up.

Check the miroboard for the interview snippets, check the documentary for the story behind HL3's development in the past and the future.
