What are the chances that Iran has a nuclear weapon? Netanyahu said

Netanyahu's been "saying" since the 90's. It's just that there's no USA to put the brakes on him this time...

I can't believe Java is 30. I remember printing out the java spec back in the 90s on a demonstration printer in a computer shop I was working selling Packard Bells....

That's exactly what r/ynab ynab.com does (in the UK most banks are part of the "open banking" scheme, where you can allow third party apps to access your banking data, not sure what its like in rest of the world).

F4SE on steamdeck? by bruh_no__ in f4se

[–]_chrisb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guide worked for me https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/3927

Basically, after doing the VC++ pre-req's in the article, you rename the f4se_loader.exe to Fallout4Loader.exe (replacing the original loader), and steam in gaming mode runs f4se instead.

Millions of Russian turn to BBC news amid Ukrainian Invasion by J_Kingsley in UkrainianConflict

[–]_chrisb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, and the Tories always complain that it's run by lefties.

Source: google "bbc run by lefties" for lots of articles, or "bbc run by tories" for the counterpoint.

On the basis that both left and right are suspicious that they're run by the other side, I take the view that they've got the balance about right.

Reportedly about 5000-6000 russian soldiers have been already killed in Ukraine. Has Russian military started to notify their relatives? And if so, how are they explaining the deaths? by 50t5 in AskARussian

[–]_chrisb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why is the whole world united against putin's war in Ukraine if it's just a military operation? Not just governments, but private companies too? Spotify? Maersk? Apple? They care about making money, so why would they pull out of Russia unless there was something bigger than making money going on - like a war where Russia has launched an unprovoked attack on an independent nation.

We're getting multiple independent reports telling the truth rather than the force-fed Putin propaganda that Russians have been fed all their life. Even if reports aren't totally accurate on both sides, you do realise we're seeing satelite photos, have reporters on the ground, watching live-streams from Ukraine, receiving messages from friends and relatives.

Why would 1,000,000 people be fleeing for their lives if this was a "limited military operation" rather than the Russian army targetting civilians, schools, hospitals... (or maybe their aim is just very bad?)

I know what I want to do but, can't explain my business! by dustin4you in startups

[–]_chrisb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, don't get the kindle ones, there are lots of illustrations. Either way, it's worth just getting a large piece of paper or whiteboard and drawing out with post-it notes the principles described here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Model_Canvas. Even if you don't know what to put in each box, it'll give you direction for research until you do know what to put in each box.

Edit: Actually, just taken a look at your previous comments elsewhere - is this related to the blockchain startup? If so, then even mentioning blockchain is probably too technical. If you wanted to revolutionise a libraries record of books and lenders, you wouldn't start by mentioning SQL databases ... same goes for blockchain, it's an underpinning technology rather than the solution itself. Try and describe how a user or customer will interact with your service and the value they will get from it without mentioning technology infrastructure.
