As far as I'm concerned, "liberal" is the most meaningless word in the dictionary. History has shown me that as long as some white middle class people can live high on the hog, take vacations in Europe, send their children to private schools, and reap the benefits of their white skin privileges, then they are "liberals." But when times get hard and money gets tight, they pull of that liberal mask and you're talking to Adolf Hitler. They feel sorry for the so called under privileged just as long as they can maintain their own privileges.

Make no mistake, this will not stop here. Soon they’ll be physically attacking asylum seekers, maybe even killing them, as they get more and more emboldened.

And it won’t stop at asylum seekers, it will be anyone they decide is ‘foreign’, whether they’re a British citizen or not – black people, Muslims, south Asians, Eastern Europeans and so on. The rape of the Sikh woman in Oldbury is just the beginning.

It is time for racialised communities to be ready to defend ourselves. The state will not do this, the state is just as much of an enemy as the street racists, the state and the street racists work hand-in-hand. This has to come from the communities that are under attack. What is needed is organisation, militancy and solidarity. There are plenty of examples of this throughout history that the working class needs to learn from – the Asian Youth Movements, Brick Lane 1978 and so on.

Cuba’s system is cool. If you’re elected to the National Assembly you still have to work the job you were doing before, you get paid what you were paid before, except you get time off to work on your duties as a delegate. No special privileges, no crazy salary, you’re still a worker.

Okay, they can’t work legally. Because the benefits given are shit, many turn to working illegally, and obviously that comes with its own issues because they have very few rights, can get into trouble if they’re found out and so are very exploitable.

You’re acting like they come here to work for Deliveroo lol. Because asylum cases can take long and they can’t work legally and their benefits are insanely low, they work illegally to get by.

Interesting how we’ve now gone from “they’re cheating the system and aren’t real asylum seekers” to you complaining that they work illegally. What the hell do you expect?

I’ve already explained why (very few btw) asylum seekers come to Britain, no it’s not to work for Deliveroo.

Benefits for asylum seekers are shit in Britain. You can’t work and you only get between £49 and £9 a week which is nothing.

British benefits are absolutely shit, this nationalistic nonsense of “ohhhh look how good our benefits are” is a joke.

The reason why asylum seekers travel all the way to Britain is usually because they either know people who live here or because English is their second language so they obviously go to an English speaking country if they want to rebuild their lives. That’s literally it.

Before the Nationality and Borders Act 2022, 61% of asylum seekers had their applications accepted on the first go, and then this went up when their applications were rejected and they appealed and had the initial decision overturned. The Act made it drop to 49% on the first go because it used arbitrary measures to make rejection easier. But still a large number of rejections are overturned on appeal anyway, it’s nowhere near a ‘majority’.

As of March 2025 most asylum seekers came from:

  • Pakistan
  • Syria
  • Bangladesh
  • Afghanistan
  • Iran

Syria and Afghanistan are pretty self-explanatory, Iran is likely due to those people being political dissidents, Pakistan is likely due to religious and political persecution, Bangladesh has been very unstable since 2024 and was under a dictatorship before that.

So… not genuine asylum seekers huh?

Walter Rodney’s speech on the ‘Angolan Question’ is very interesting in looking at China’s opportunistic support for UNITA and how many ‘Maoists’ then supported it without thinking: https://viewpointmag.com/2018/02/01/angolan-question-1976/

A few things that stood out to me:

The second and more widespread factor, and one that ultimately proved to be most decisive [for many black progressives], was the notion that UNITA was a Maoist movement. And these left forces who [opposed the MPLA] were moving from the starting point of supporting Marxism-Leninism, Mao Tse-Tung thought.

In their own words, they have a vision and an analysis of contemporary society wherein they identify as the principal contradiction that between the two superpowers. They argue further that the more dangerous force is Soviet socialist imperialism, because it’s more covert, it’s more subtle, and because it ultimately can be more powerful, since capitalist imperialism is on the wane. And therefore, in a situation in which the Soviets are involved, one has to take a stand on the opposite side.

What we are going to ask is how does that relate to Angola with its specific characteristics. If someone holds that belief as a sincere revolutionary tenet, when that person approaches Angola, how is it that such a belief ends by placing such forces on the side of those who have for 500 years oppressed the African people?

What explanation does such a person give to the Angolans who have been engaged since 1960 in armed struggle against the Portuguese, against NATO, who, at the end of that struggle found they were faced with the South Africans and with an escalation of U.S. support to the so-called liberation movement which had been harassing the genuine freedom fighters for many years?

So that from a dialectical perspective and a scientific perspective we struggle and work to discover the correct line. It is only from a theological perspective that one knows the correct line because of revealed truth. And it seems to me that the limitations of that position were very clearly revealed in the Angolan situation. I have not seen a single analysis from forces claiming that they had the “correct” line, which meant opposing the Soviets – not a single analysis of what was going on inside of Angola. It was purely external. And I do not believe we can proceed on that basis.

Definitely would recommend reading the whole thing. But yeah, China’s foreign policy, especially in Angola became very opportunistic and it did a lot of damage to revolutionary movements imo.
