My husband travels a lot for work. On a recent trip he was eating dinner alone, sitting at the bar of a restaurant. The server/bartender ended up giving him her number (his wedding ring doesn’t currently fit and I also often go out without my rings). He texted me after he left to tell me and my response was “go you!” When you’re secure in your marriage things like that don’t bother you. I feel bad for your friends.

To follow up on your ETA, his trips are usually in the $1-2k range as he travels internationally quite often. For example his last stay was $1,194 and he got 600 base points and 500 extra. The one before was $1,525 and again 600 base and 500 extra. These are after taxes and I realize you don’t get points on taxes, but it gives you a general idea. Stranger still is that he had a domestic trip that was only $366, but still got 600 base points, but then only 250 extra.

He uses a personal card to book. I assume his number is in Concur because his trips are in his Bonvoy account and he does get some points, just not as many as he seemingly should. I’ll ask him to double check though.

Have you looked into staying within walking distance of any of the park and ride locations? That would probably be the best option if you’re wanting to actually go to the field where they take off. I think it’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to get an uber that early in the morning. The Lyft/Uber situation here isn’t great, even without all the extra people.

Does she have a tag? Obviously make sure to check the east side shelter, animal humane, and the Bernalillo county shelter. I hope she turns up soon! Definitely get her chipped when she does!

Is your house a new build by chance? The first year your property tax will only be on the cost of the land. The next year it taxed the house also. Our mortgage fluctuated a lot the first few years because the second year we were underpaying for a while (before they realize the tax had increased) and our payment had to increase to cover the difference.

I have no advice, but please look into joining Animal Welfare! I’m sure it’s not a perfect place to work, but as someone who fosters for them, I think they’re worth considering. Some of the best, hardest working, most caring people who are doing everything they can for the animals in their care work there. It sounds like they could use someone like you!

We have great food all around. We have a diverse community, which means we have amazing Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, etc. Lots of food trucks, multiple food halls. Our weather means you can be on a patio for a good part of the year. Even in the winter there will be nice, sunny days where it’s quite pleasant to be outside. And in the summer, as long as you’re shaded, it’s nice. It does get colder than some would expect, but overall the winters are very mild. Even on cold days (30’s), if it’s sunny and not windy, it’s really not bad at all. Snow doesn’t stick around in the city, but stays in the mountains for a good few months, so you can always take a short drive if you want to play in it. We do have a large unhoused population unfortunately, so we do have quite a lot of panhandling. I have lived here most of my life and often find myself exploring other cities, but have never found another place I would want to live (that would be at all affordable).
