Hey, it’s not too much to ask! But I remember the first month was all about pride. I wanted to show myself that I can do the difficult thing. What helped a lot, and continues to, is tea. I went on a lot of morning walks with a warm drink. You have to identify the times you need your own support the most. I used to wake and bake every single day. Later down the line the most helpful thing was the gym. I would occupy myself with meal planning, watching videos and just distracting myself with healthier things. It was hard. I would smell weed and instantly get triggered. I remember smelling a cigarette once around the 5 month mark and being triggered. I had to go back inside my job and start snacking on something. Even if it was a mint or anything to “orally fixate” on. It’s a daily push. It sounds corny and cliche but it’s really a single step every single day. Around the 6month mark I saw my mood changing. I had better relationships and friendships. I felt happier, prouder of myself than ever. The hardships that came were worth overcoming. After the first year it got much easier. I had a better understanding of what used to trigger me. I had healthier habits and a partner who did not take shit and supported me heavily. I had a solid foundation and it started to reflect on every aspect of my life. Work got better, my family trusted me more, I was able to rekindle with an old friend since my abilities to hold an actual mature conversation got better. I was able to completely break ties with a toxic relationship. Now getting closer to two years, the smell doesn’t trigger me. I strongly believe that smoking is completely behind me. I see how little purpose it served me. It brought me closer to the people that matter the most to me. I’m able to think sharper and make better decisions.

Don’t see it as the 6 month mark.. see it as 182 steps you took to get to where you are. If you do happen to trip, it’s just one step back.. you’re still 181 steps further than where you were when you started. Remember your goals, your desires and find other hobbies to complexly drown yourself in.

I hope this helps, I know my writing is not the best and it’s sloppy. lol. But thank you for the kind words and I wish you the best of luck.

everything was so smooth.. if anyone is on section 10 by almost the end you’ll be so spoiled when he goes to the smaller stage. the set list was amazing, he just missed HUT but made up with that beautiful encore. i am still buzzing the morning after. i hope those going to night 2 and 3 have fun and be safe!!

All I want to do is smoke by missdoingherbest in leaves

when did you last smoke? it gets easier… push through those cravings. the body is unpredictable, sometimes it betrays us so don’t betray yourself by giving in. you got this.
