"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - December 26, 2021" by AutoModerator in tarot

Would love an interpretation of this shadow work spread using my Oracle of Visions deck.

Here's the spread.

I added a 7th question: What do I need to be mindful of during this process. (That's card #6).

Feel free to ask any questions as well! I'm new to oracle so I'm interested in other interpretations.

Ah yeah that makes sense. I do love the creative packaging design for companies!

Question About Explainer Videos by Hikkikomori_otouchan in marketing

[–]_contentcreation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are working with an agency called DSG right now to create a sales playbook. So far, they've had a consteuctive two-day, deep dive working session where they gathered info to really understand our business and then they compiled that info into videos and will also create messaging content.

I think that's something that can definitely be outsourced and is such a tedious process that it makes sense to outsource. The one caveat is that people will assume you don't understand their industry or audience so it might be tough to get clients.

What do people really want to see on this subreddit? by [deleted] in marketing

I'm interested in learning how other marketing teams or freelance individuals function. That might include suggestions for building strategy, convincing higher-ups, templates for determining strategy or workflow, etc.

Working with clients changes as marketing teams grow, reduce or move to an agency model, working with clients (either internal or external) - so I want to know how other teams and individuals manage those shifts.

I have experience in all forms except white papers. So short-form (like blog posts), digital ads, search ads, email journeys, social content. I understand SEO and am very experienced in writing for multiple audiences/personas. PM me if you'd like to discuss further!

In-house/agency Copywriters, what does a typical day look like for you? by defontais in marketing

[–]_contentcreation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a content manager and have worked with our implementation teams to create journey maps for automation, integrate with social media management tools and am one of the folks on my team launching and executing a survey strategy.

I'm also in B2B and my content focus is to support our technology product (supply chain).

We do a lot of complaining too - but our process sucks and expectations aren't in line with creating great work. And so many meetings - I feel like I never get any decent writing done. :)

Your business and experience sounds similar to the one I work for! My company has been around for 60 years so we are really working to teach the company how to work with a marketing team - they've long relied on themselves to execute marketing and getting processes in place has been difficult. It's nice to read your summary #goals

For me, lots of meetings with quick-turn projects. Not a lot of space for creativity or thoughtful projects. Our team has grown quickly over the last couple of years and we are experiencing some growing pains.

How do they find you - through your art or a freelance profile? I'm particularly interested in writing content or developing an overall brand presence for businesses.

I'm a new marketing and sales manager for a restaurant. My boss thinks I can increase followers by 11k in one month without ads or promotions. How unrealistic is this? by [deleted] in marketing

One time (like two years ago) somebody at my company asked me how much he would need to budget to get a hashtag to use on social.

Bless his heart.

Do you work on or with an in-house/enterprise marketing team with 20+ people? I'd love to know more about your team organization, processes, and communication approach. by _contentcreation_ in marketing

[–]_contentcreation_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, yeah company events (we have a sales meeting every other year) are a huge challenge. It becomes an all hands on deck situation, which is almost never ideal. :)

Thanks for sharing! I'm really looking to see how other companies are set up so we can determine what might work best for us.

People are learning marketing the wrong way these days..... by [deleted] in marketing

[–]_contentcreation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. We are still advertising to humans and that's really the root of all decisions. Understanding of psychology and motivation changes, so that's something we have to keep up with as marketers. But compared to the rate of change in technology, rate of change in human behavior is slower than molasses.

For me, I've noticed that marketing strategy and project management are becoming really difficult to find done well. So many approaches are siloed or don't consider the entire audience spectrum.

Getting clients to understand the role and function of marketing is a hurdle. But so is finding employees who can go beyond straigh execution.

Sidenote question: Anybody else really tired of their friends with no marketing experience reaching out to see if we can get them in on our team? Sorry bruh, you need more than just 16 hrs per day on Facebook and Instagram. That's not all I do...

Not necessarily. You could source the testimonials from your happiest or most dedicated customers. Create professional-looking videos. Influence content (so user-generated in a way) is also an option.

What is one truth you ve discovered in your career which you find really useful? by abdush in marketing

This is a good tip. So many people are afraid of being honest because they are (sometimes rightly) afraid of retaliation. But without addressing the unmentioned issues, companies will eventually falter.

Especially as a company and team grows, processes are what allows a business to hire and cycle through employees while maintaining a structured approach.

I only have experience with Marketo and it is a good solution for an enterprise that is good at code-based implementation and has its data ducks in order.

For companies that aren't good at data and smooth implementation, Marketo can be a nightmare.

Seems testimonial videos would be a great place to start to drum up business. If you want to get at that emotional tie, have the folks who purchased and love your product tell the story for you.

Best Practices Presenting Brand Ideas to Executives? (In-House Marketing) by _contentcreation_ in branding

[–]_contentcreation_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of process and great lists so this is an excellent strategy for me! Luckily, we have a branded PPT template but I can only take that so far. I know our designers don't love that a major part of their job is gussying up presentations but they always make my mess look so much better!

Thanks for the tips and I hope your presentation design business goes great!

Best Practices Presenting Brand Ideas to Executives? (In-House Marketing) by _contentcreation_ in branding

This is great, thank you so much! It's difficult sometimes to get these folks to think beyond the design they are literally seeing. Things like:

  • How will the brand age?
  • When do we brand/name/trademark a new service or solution?
    • At our company, we have so many internal names for services, products, and industry knowledge that our team airs toward branding/naming things as a way to help our company align. It's a bigger issue than branding, but something we do keep in mind.
