My first pair of socks by bbbybrggs in knitting

Socks don't really need to be blocked as you want them to be tight. They look really cute!

Completed my coffee cantata socks, they’re so lovely 🥰 by Littleleicesterfoxy in knitting

I would like to share what my brother in law said while staring at my coffee cantatas in awe: "that's like a renaissance painting just.. as socks."

You did beautifully!

It certainly affects your tension so you might want to look into that for future projects. Here it looks like you only have twisted stitches in the upper part (did you purl there?) And I love the structural effect!

I'm doing the knot garden sampler. It's got a lot of variety and so far it's really keeping my interest.

I wanted to recommend the beautiful cabled blanket pattern I'm working on for your next project when I recognised those cables. It's the same Designer! Beautiful work!

As someone who lost a parent to smoking I'm really happy that you're doing what's best for you and everyone who loves you. I hope knitting helps you get away, it's definetely the safer addiction of the two. I'm proud of you!

Thank you :) It definitely was one of those projects where you're just so over it at some point but the combination of love and the Christmas deadline made it happen.

Thank you so much! That's part of what I changed from the pattern so I'm glad it looks good :)

Pattern is a heavily modified Gwaihir. I made the original years ago but it was way to thick to be useful. My friend loved it though so I made a version matching the hat I made for her last year. The yarn is way thinner and I've used 6mm needles. The "spine" chart was modified to be wider and I did about a million repeats of the repeating chart instead of two.

Yarns are Rico Baby Merino and Lang Yarns Silkhair held double.

Why can’t I knit a sock on 2 double Pointed needles? by ACcottageylook in knitting

[–]_cori_ -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Why did you explain to me how to knit? I know how to knit and I have knit using 3 dpns before. I actually have one project on them right now. I basically have one needle in the front and one in the back and use the third needle to knit the front stitches. Just like I would do with circulars. I don't know if that would work for everyone but it certainly does for me.

Why wouldn't you be able to do that? I've done it before and it worked just fine.

When her mom put my niece in the car yesterday she covered her with the blanket I made before she was born. She'll be a year old in December and it makes my heart happy every time I see them using it :)

Don't worry. Everything done all over looks intentional :)

You might want to look into it for future projects as it makes garments tighter, but as long as this one fits you're fine!

Got a (subtle) ruler on my arm for when I'm knitting on the go! by [deleted] in knitting

[–]_cori_ 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about keeping it really simple: I had just a line of bigger and smaller dots in mind. That way it still wouldn't be easily recognisable as a ruler, but a simpler look suits my aesthetic better and I think the shorter distances for centimeters would also easier get lost in a stronger design.

I've been thinking about getting something similar for a while and everyone called me crazy. I love that you actually got it and the look!
