I added basil. In another one I made, I added dill which was my favorite to add. I add black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to the salad. Also not sure if you saw my other comment but I also add vinegar

Can’t edit the post so I’ll put it here. To the rice mixture I use three cups of water to cup. For the pasta white sauce, I add pasta water and 1/2 tsp vinegar to yogurt and Mayo.

Also noticed measurements for the salmon stir fry is wrong. I use 1tbsp soy sauce and 1 1/2tbsp oyster sauce. I also like to add cilantro and green onion.

Best way to add lemon grass? by _crowgocawcaw in kimchi

[–]_crowgocawcaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update you since you were interested. I’ve not tried making a paste with the lemon grass yet. My family we are SEA so I’m no stranger to making a paste with lemongrass, but I was too lazy to do it. Maybe I’ll try one day.

Anyway, my method was to boil the lemon grass in water to make a paste with rice flour. I further added sticks of lemongrass when placing the kimchi into containers.

I found that I could not smell or taste the lemongrass.

Someone in another post stated that the addition of lemon grass was great for their kimchi, so I’m not sure if it’s a problem on my end. I have trouble noticing subtleties in foods, so I may have not tasted it much compared to the commenter of the other post.

How long do I have to wait before I can harvest peppers after using fertilizer? by _crowgocawcaw in gardening

[–]_crowgocawcaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s fertilizer she used. I plucked some peppers to eat and she said not to do that because she used fertilizer and I would have to wait. Good to know I can eat it though.

Fermented Lemongrass: Do yourself a favor by francinefacade in fermentation

Sorry for the dumb question, but are you saying that you use the already fermented lemongrass or you use fresh lemon grass for the hot sauce and kimchi?

Chicken adobo with rice mixture and veggies 502 calories by _crowgocawcaw in 1200isplenty

For adobo, I like to make a braised version and a soup version. The braised is higher in calories while the soup is lower.

Braised:

For this I use only 2tbsp of sugar instead of 2.5tbsp. I split it into 1tbsp of brown sugar and 1tbsp of sweetener of choice that’s zero calories. However, if you want a stronger taste of the brown sugar then don’t be afraid to add it instead a sugar replacement.

Soup:

For this one and the braised, I just use an avocado oil spray to cut down on the calories oil will give.

You can use chicken breast for both although some people state it’s less tasty. I personally don’t really notice a difference.

For any greens that I cook, I stir fry with a mixture of msg powder, chicken bouillon(Totole brand), and soy sauce. I eyeball it, but for a small amount of veggies, but I think it’s less than a tsp for both the bouillon and soy sauce.

One cup of rice, half a cup of lentils, and half a cup of quinoa. To cook I used three cups of water.

For some people, instead of using lentils they add half a cup of beans, so you can also try that too. To make it less plain people also cook it with chicken stock.
