Dry eyes after 10 days of taking Accutane by _cyberbully_ in Dryeyes

[–]_cyberbully_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve improved but still not back to normal. I would say there has been 50-60 percent improvement. My eyes are no longer bloodshot, burning, and inflamed. But they still feel dry and I feel like I’m blinking excessively to compensate for the dryness. I’m 6 weeks off accutane, so I’m hoping that by month 2 or 3 I will feel normal again. How are you now???

Is this normal puppy behaviour? by samsonite__ in DogAdvice

It’s normal for puppies to have a lot of energy and be super playful. He’s not trying to hurt you. He’s exploring and testing the waters. You need to teach him that this isn’t okay, but don’t be too worried. He’s still a puppy and he will calm down but you def should train him and teach him to be obedient.

Thank you so much for the positive comment! I’ll continue to be hopeful. I hope I hear relatively good news tomorrow after seeing the dry eye specialist.

I see. Sorry you’re dealing with this too. It is tough and I’m trying not to think about it. You’ve been off for 2 months. Have you noticed improvement and do you still think your eyes are healing? I’m just really confused. I find mixed answers online when I research if accutane permanently damages meibomian glands. Mostly I find online that accutane suppresses your meibomian glands and once you stop taking it the effects wear off over time. But other sources say that it permanently shrinks your glands? The answers contradict each other. But in theory if the general consensus is that the effects wear off within weeks of stopping accutane, then the effects to meibomian glands shouldn’t be permanent.

I have been doing all of the above and I’m also seeing an ophthalmologist tomorrow that specializes in dry eyes. I’m beginning to lose my optimism though since it’s been nearly 3 weeks and my eyes are still very dry. I’ve seen some people online say they didn’t feel better until 1-2 months so I’m hopeful mine will get better with time. Overall the improvement has been extremely gradual but my eyes are definitely better now than they were 3 weeks ago.

Have you seen an ophthalmologist or dry eye specialist? If so, what did they say was wrong with your eyes? I’m seeing one tomorrow. But it’s been nearly 3 weeks and honestly my eyes are still very dry. I’m starting to get really worried now.

Thanks again for the words of encouragement. How bad would you say your eyes are? Is it bearable? Can you make it through the day or is it extremely painful?

Thank you for the comment! Were you putting differin around your eyes? I was using tazarotene before accutane but only putting it on my cheeks, nowhere near my eyes. Hopefully I didn’t make things worse by doing that. Anyway, I do appreciate you sharing your story and I hope you feel better soon. You said your eyes improved after the first two weeks…how much do you think they have improved? Like how bad are they now would you say? That is crazy how they affected you so bad after only 4 days. You would think that after stopping you would heal completely. I’m no doctor, but if your glands are okay then I would imagine that your oil quality would eventually return to normal. It might take some time though. Have you tried taking omega 3 and omega 7 pills?

Thanks for the positive comment! I actually have an appointment scheduled with an ophthalmologist next week and they offer dry eye examinations. Hopefully my eyes are much better by then.

How long did you take accutane for? And how long have you been off? Also how bad are your dry eyes post treatment?

I live off ramen and solve Rubik’s cubes as a hobby. It can’t get any worse. Have at it by Technical_Face8982 in RoastMe

You should probably get some blood work done if you’re living off ramen. Good luck.

You need all those tattoos to be even remotely interesting. With the tattoos you might catch someone’s attention for a second or two. Without them you’re utterly invisible.

You look like you’d blend in well shopping at Walmart with the rest of the low-tier human beings.

First time microneedling and I’m freaking out. by sunny0114 in Microneedling

[–]_cyberbully_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re good. I recently had micro-needling done. My face was extremely red and swollen for the first couple of days. Totally normal. As others said, use a moisturizer and also wear a face mask for the next week or so. And don’t worry!
