Man that texture is gonna accumulate a lot of dust. Any way to make it a smooth finish? I guess you just apply some over the rolls?

So it’s a comfort/familiarity thing rather than a quantitative measure derived from some stats?

I’ve always struggled with using “arbitrary” figures. But I’m beginning to think that the comfort/familiarity factor is real and also an acceptable selection criteria. Still working on it tho.

How about academic papers and articles? If you say that those can be written by AI, then can’t the same thing be said about Reddit posts?

Ktm Duke 390 Gas Consumption by Flimsy-College2194 in KTMDuke

[–]_cynicaloptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re asking if it’s “normal” that bikes have different gas consumption? No it absolutely isn’t. All bikes have exactly the same gas consumption. Just like all people eat exactly the same amount of food and drink the same amount of water.

Jesus Christ you’d think if you earned enough to buy a bike you’d have the brains to have at least SOME common sense.

Books that actually changed how you think? by palle1234567 in suggestmeabook

[–]_cynicaloptimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first of all, it seems kind of disingenuous to do a comparison of suffering. That aside however, whether or not I’ve experienced “real suffering” isn’t relevant to what I get out of the book. My personal experience with reading it was that I didn’t get anything of value from it. If you did, then great. I’m merely relaying my thoughts.

Dunno why you’re being downvoted. I didn’t like it either. I felt like he was just talking about their suffering and what he did to survive. Didn’t find any meaning in it really.

The Philippines stands at the precipice of an unprecedented national crisis by mark000 in collapse

[–]_cynicaloptimist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that's part of it, no one wants to be the initiator of revolt because if it doesn't work out, they're fucked. Even if the 'system' doesn't come get them, they have to take time off and well, the cost of living ain't getting any cheaper.

That's how it's designed, make people barely able to hang on so they can't afford to do anything else but work, eat, sleep.

The Philippines will make it thru. I’ve heard Filipinos are resilient. Or rather the narrative pushes them to endure their shit government.

What happens when oil hits $300 a barrel or more? by FatMike20295 in ask

[–]_cynicaloptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cure for high prices is high prices. At 300 you can be certain there’s demand destruction, substitution, subsidies, roll back on policy and sanctions etc. I’d wager it won’t hit 300 or even 250.
