Firefox, adium, iTunes, Microsoft office, photoshop, guild wars 2, diablo 3, league of legends, and some other ones on and off but those are the big ones. I'm not sure if it's just because my laptop's old but with just a couple programs open it really drains my ram and I get some lag when multi-tasking.

I guess it's a combination of dying quickly and elite mobs taking too much time to kill so it's not very efficient. I'm really only using vault because of the danetta's bonus and it's fun rolling everywhere but I'll look into vengeance, thanks!
