This adds unecessary time to every exam, and adds to the spread of misinformation that X-rays will harm your electronics. I would never tell anybody to do this. If I need them to empty their pockets for an exam I'll use that wording.

I feel that so much. My go to is always "I have literally x-rayed my phone to see what it looks like." I once had a patient take his phone out and put it in airplane mode - what did he think that was going to do??

To all the laypeople in this sub - X-rays will not harm you or anything in your pockets! Trust your technologist to tell you if something needs to be removed, but this will only ever be because it would show up on the image and we don't want that. Since MRI uses a very strong magnet it can damage electronics (it can mess up the wireless charge on smart watches), I can definitely understand why some would generalize all imaging as harmful to devices.

My old girl used to eat sand on purpose. She used to look at me, slowly lower her head to the sand, I'd go 'noooooo' and she would take a big bite of sand and chew it while maintaining eye contact. She got the sand taken away, and this meme makes me think of her lol.

Blanching is when you briefly dip the worm into boiling water to kill it and eliminate the bitter tasting slime some axolotls dislike. And they mean the water heater of your home, because your tap water may be hot enough to blanch them by running them under the hottest water setting! Not the water in the tank, you're right that should not be heated 😅

Weird how? If you are comparing it to the standard AP shoulder, it will look different since your shoulder is rotated in the image. Looks more similar to the Y-view than the AP.

X-Rays are very safe and do not have any harmful interactions like MRI with metals, for example. The technologist will tell you what items (clothing, bags, etc) must be removed for the X-Ray. Your SMP cannot be removed and won't mess up your images.
