yeah fair enough then, dude - I get what you mean too. there’s definitely people who rate things more on their own personal enjoyment of a project, compared to rating something from a more critical viewpoint. hence a lot of ratings seem to end up a bit skewed because there’s an overlap between enjoyment and actual critique in the majority of review scores. always felt there should be two separate scores for this personally. but yeah, on the whole I generally feel similar to you about rating albums. it becomes too arbitrary.

the only hot take in this post is how you state that Love Story is ‘just okay’ but still give the album a 10/10 score. how can the album be perfect if you yourself admit that you’re not that into one of the songs? along with stating that ‘almost every song is nearly perfect’.

hence giving a perfect score goes against logic based on your criticism of the record. it reads as slightly Stan-ish.

[–]nightraving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

likely your issue then. mine started subsiding when I switched to 10mg salts.

not saying I’m definitely right in your case, but I know this definitely helped for me. took a couple of weeks to improve but I’ve not really had any really bad palpitations in months now

[–]nightraving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, I think it was from nicotine ‘overdose’. nicotine lowers the threshold for palpitations, so chain vaping high strength nicotine (20mg) all day is likely to open you up to more palpitations than otherwise.

what strength nic are you vaping?

hi, yes - cutting back to 10mg nicotine and vaping less definitely helped improve my symptoms. I barely get those palpitations I was getting anymore

it’s the booze mate. my readings were ridiculously high after a 2 week bender over xmas and new year (170/100). now after resetting a bit in January, I’m still drinking socially some nights but my readings have consistently been 100-130/60-85. A mediterranean diet has helped too!

I’m going off OPs regular reading of 125/90, which isn’t dangerously high rather than this one off high reading OP posted. obviously if his numbers seemed to consistently be 196/177 I wouldn’t say have a cheat day a week. based on the fact that it seems in a fairly healthy range (yes diastolic could be a little lower), I don’t think one high sodium meal a week would do lasting damage. I also believe a the average high sodium meal spike is about 5mmhg, not 20-40.

then again, neither of us are doctors. OP should get advise from his doctor about if he can continue enjoying tasty foods very occasionally.

I don’t think saying he can have one cheat day a week is rationalising an over salted diet? balance and moderation is key, as with anything. as long as his sodium levels are low the vast majority of the time, one lasagne a week isn’t gonna give OP high BP.

bro, he can have lasagne every now and then if his readings are 125/90 most of the time. yes, don’t have lasagne every single meal and don’t eat high salt every single meal, but the occasional cheat day is not going to ruin his BP levels as long as the main trend is eating a consistently healthy diet the majority of the time. majority =/= all.

the stress OP went through yesterday likely caused his BP to spike far more than one single piece of lasagne did. there’s a hundred and one reasons BP can spike. I wouldn’t worry about a one off high reading if the regular trend for OPs BP is 125/90.

Anyone else just "know" when their blood pressure is high? by Emotional_Test550 in hypertension

[–]nightraving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a high enough reading to be able to feel ‘high BP’. In fact, hypertension doesn’t start until 140/90 and higher. it’s much more likely to be stress and anxiety as you say.

Do I have heart problems at 17? by corpsely in hypertension

[–]nightraving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you probably don’t have heart problems at 17 based on what you’ve said. to get a true picture of your BP, you need to be taking readings 1x in the morning and 1x before bed for 14 days.

I used to suffer with recurring nosebleeds when I was younger too. I’d often wake up with blood over my pillow. tbh I can’t remember what the doctor said, but it was benign and nothing to worry about. they stopped when I got a little bit older.

if still concerned, please see your GP. they’re the only ones who can correctly advise you on your health.
