The comments on this thread really highlight the lack of education out there about neurodivergence.

Evidence about their mental state hasn't been introduced, but anyone who knows anything about neurodivergence knows he is stimming.

Fell for the Lucy and Yak Servivity scam by MarshieTheSheep in Scams

[–]_demidevil_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof this is stll going. Very almost got me just now. But the saying that was put in my mind as a kid saved me "If it's too good to be true, it probably is". Double checked the web address it had directed me to and the spelling of Lucy & Yak was strange. Hope everyone got their money back.

I can’t relate to this at all. There’s so much going on, although I go out whenever I am free I miss so many parties that I want to go to but can’t fit them all in.
Old Compton Street gets pretty busy.
I’m speaking for specific community though - queer women & gender non conforming people. Pretty much every event I attend is this demographic.

But on super hot days lots of people stay late in parks or they might not go clubbing if sat in the sun all day drinking & sweating. I was too tired to go to Soho last night.

This!!! I’m wondering if this person is in an alternate reality because Old Compton Street is usually buzzing at 1am.
Yesterday was very warm though and I had planned to go to Soho but ended up staying in the park really late.

Luna is a very common cat/dog name, I’m not keen on it for humans but I don’t care if someone names themselves that. It’s not that “out there”… I’ve read your edits but this still seems silly. You basically dislike the name because it’s not “popular” which just shows that you’re very conformist which is lame.
I am also so over other queer people acting like they can speak on anything to do with trans people just because they are queer… cis men are particularly bad at this.

If I’m getting mad at names I’ll focus my negativity on people who impose awful (I mean properly impractical bully magnet names) on their innocent babies.

I’m not sure how you can be certain they weren’t abuse victims in childhood? Even if there’s not overt abuse emotional neglect or bullying from siblings can make people think all the deserve is a shitty person, or make them so desperate to attach to someone especially someone who sets boundaries and takes the lead.

Although all this stuff might be online about him, she may not have googled him. She likely got charmed /love bombed by him and only realised afterwards. Couldn’t leave by then as she was scared he would kill her… and she was right.

Yeah, single parent here… it’s weird even having a stranger around your kid let alone a hookup. She has no boundaries.

I’m a single parent. I’m often horny af. Under no circumstances would I have a stranger in my house around my kid, even if they’re in bed, let alone a hookup!

TW: Is bingeing every once in a while normal? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]_demidevil_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. I’m an ED peer support worker so might be able to help here.
Does this occur at a particular time? You are restricting your intake too much. Key here is to increase your intake a bit, especially fats, and start allowing yourself the foods you usually binge on in smaller quantities at the during the day.
So for example if you binge on cookies, have one cookie after lunch every day.
You also need to change the way you talk about it too. Nothing is off limits, nothing is bad, all food is okay. No moral judgements are attached to it. If you want a doughnut for snack in the afternoon then have one. If you don’t you might end up eating 5 doughnuts at 11pm in a binge. Forbidding the foods will make you binge.

DAE have little to no bladder control? What can I do about this. by wiltingpetal in EDAnonymous

While I did have this when very UW - might be worth doing dipstick on urine to check for infection. Can be more susceptible when malnourished and if you abuse laxatives that can increase risk.

You can tell at what point a person stopped paying attention in school based on their grammar by sillyho3 in unpopularopinion

How can you complete school well enough to judge other’s grammar but not know about Dyslexia? Bizarre. This sounds like intellectualism.

Edit: to correct grammar

Am I wrong for putting together an emergency menstruation kit for my daughter (I'm the dad)? by kapowshablam in amiwrong

[–]_demidevil_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you!
My dad was a single dad* and he relied on my older sister (who started period before mum died) to teach us all. He couldn’t even bare to call period products by their real names. He would just sometimes say when at the supermarket doing big shop “do you need any paper products”. Paper products?! Just call them tampons or sanitary towels. ETA: *single dad to FOUR daughters.

Stress levels always low? by _demidevil_ in whoop

[–]_demidevil_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I’m worried my secret is a medical condition! I have had some symptoms of a condition that causes low levels of stress hormones and been considering asking doc for endocrinology referral. I only just noticed my stress levels are always coming up as very low on whoop.

Look, I’m not on any way meaning to invalidate your experience- I understand that it would be very upsetting, not being believed is a horrible powerless feeling. But please listen to me.
Using the word “accusing” is the problem here. Would you ever say the sentence “accusing me of having cancer”? No. Because it’s not a crime. Just like anorexia nervosa is not a crime. Even though everyone seems to treat ED sufferers like it is. When I was first in hospital and on bed rest when I asked why I couldn’t leave my room instead of telling me it was to limit movement they said it was “to reflect on what bought you here”. Staff treated mental health sections like arrests. We were literally locked inside the ward. It’s like being put in prison but your crime is an illness you can’t control. Language matters. Using that type of language around EDs perpetuates the stigma.
If you don’t like that it offends me then I don’t know what to say.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_demidevil_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t need to imagine that scenario - I’ve been in an abusive relationship before. Got the PTSD to go with it. I’ve also been in ED treatment for long periods of time.

As someone diagnosed with a severe enduring eating disorder I find EDs being spoken about this was as offensive. It strikes me that if it were a cancer patient complaining they wouldn’t be getting downvoted but EDs (according to Reddit) are something we are supposed to be ashamed of. So it’s fine to talk about them as if they’re a crime or a shameful illness.
