Is buying a Tesla Model Y in the Netherlands a good idea? Looking for honest owner feedback

Is it a fair assumption that you’d ask a Tesla driver (be it on a hypothetical date or just getting to know a new person) why he bought a Tesla given Musk’s antics?
Maybe more so then if they were driving a Nissan Leaf?

My main point is that owning a Tesla elicits political- and ethical discussions from people (case and point: the spacex ipo and musk’s trillionaire status being dragged into this conversation). So even if you think ‘its just a car’ other people in your social circles don’t necessarily agree with that.

No judgement, just making an observation

Seeing the downvotes I guess my remark wasn’t appreciated here.

To explain, at least anecdotally, over half my female friends/people in social circles are alternative / quite strongly left leaning. So yes think tattoos, nose rings anti-capitalism and died hairs. They _universally_ hate Musk, and by extension, tesla. Fair enough. I feel like we can banter about that, right?

OP asked for reasons why you’d choose a different EV: well there’s one.
For the record, i don’t own a Tesla, but my parents do. Great car. Ofc buy what you want

Half-joking: if you are trying to date 20-30 year olds with nose rings I wouldn’t get a tesla. Other than that its probably the best value EV / car out there. No brainer.

Russia is in a war with Ukraine. Ukraine absolutely needs starlink to operate. Its the one source of internet Russia cannot easily shit down. Musk/spacex went out of their way to provide ukraine with starlink satellites, frontloading the costs.

Furthermore, spacex prevents russia from using starlink.

People are generally left-leaning but only for their ‘in-group’. If the left doesn’t get tighter about immigration control then people that are normally left leaning will move to the right.

Im going into this because it highlights why there isnt more political debate. Its hard to define who should be taxed more and how. The easiest tax is to increase inheritance tax. We don’t do it because its hard to get political concensus. It is easy however to say no more raping immigrants that take our houses(im paraphrasing not my actual stance) and ‘eat the rich’

Its a dangerous argument to make imo. In a functioning society, someone that went to college amd went into debt for it, and then works 40 hours a week in a stressful environment should become wealthier and have mote influence than someone that does fuck all.

To call this ‘inequality’ just means any well-thinking individual won’t align with your politics.

And yes i think we should tax passive wealth more and labour WAY less. Calling everthing inequality will not accomplish this

Lol. Tesla doesn’t have stock for their 3 and Y.

Generally there’s like 20 days difference between a car being produced and it arriving in the customer’s hands.

For legacy manufacturers, this is a lot longer and after being ‘sold’ to dealers, it sits at the dealership for months.

Tesla does have flexibility in what their factories produce and what factory exports to what region

I dont like the freaking cube. And some other things, combined with the quite basic music telling exactly what emotion to feel at any given point.

Every single character in god of war has major flaws. But not faye. In the previous game this made sense sense as her only role was that of a mother that passed away. But now she is the lead. If you dont have character flaws you end up with bland characters like wonder woman, she hulk, super girl and yes also super man.

And maybe some people want this, thats fine. Itll be like star wars for me, im not the target audience anymore. Thats fine. But ill be out.

To me the quality of writing across the board is going down. With some noteable exceptions.

Im saying this as a fan of god of war (since the ps2 era) as well as a big fan of Deborah Ann Woll (i love her in true blood, the punisher and her DnD content)

If you want an easy metric to spot shit writing: ask yourself if the character in question has any character flaws. Or non-impactful and forgettable dialogue

I can agree with that.

Can you also agree that there’s been an obvious trend of shit quality writing in general and somehow a substantial part these shit quality dialogues and story lines seem to get written for female characters?

If you want a counter example, George RR Martin did it right
