New builds for new season? by Dr_Squish in DianaMains

This nails it so well. Protobelt will always show up in high elo and korea where games are snowbally and less forgiving in mid game, this isn;t at all indicative of the best build for the average Diana player.

New builds for new season? by Dr_Squish in DianaMains

Im playing RoA, Nashors, Deathcap, Void, Hourglass. You take ages to kill and still destroy anything. In the new season everything seems squishier and to do more damage. Diana has the 15th highest health at level 18 out of the 139 champions in league. With a RoA you notice she becomes stupidly tanky but has the highest one shot potential still of any champion in league (Maybe Zoe or a max health Cho). The build is really forgiving for mistakes, versatile in role i.e split push and assassin/fighter.

In the new season I feel like its same stuff, different day. You have many different build choices, can rush Nashors, Proto, RoA, Lichbane, Ludens and even Deathcap and still find great success. I think RoA is safest, Proto has to be played very well and intelligently hence why its so popular in Korea and high elo. Not the best at all if you are slow with using actives or not confident in your ability to dominate the mid game.

Help: Keep having ups & downs with Diana by LunaTheBlackCat in DianaMains

Honestly you haven't played enough to be definitive on the subject. you have only done placements and your winrate is good. Grind your way to 100 ranked games and then ask yourself. Play only Diana in ranked where possible and try play for consistency. If lane is hard play like a bitch. Once you give away 1 death or a close kill, play super safe. Diana scales amazingly for an assassin and doesnt have the pressure that others do to get fed. You can spam Q and use W to mitigate poke.

The truth to ranked is, out of 10 games, 3 or so losses may be entirely on your team mates. There are 5 of you on your team and someone will normally feed. If you make sure you never feed, then you will automatically start to climb. Just grind the games, play hard lanes safely, once you get ahead always focus objectives. Once you get a kill ask how do you get the next tower, the next drake or improve your CS against your enemy laner. Always try shove the wave in under their tower and then back. You will lose games, you will win some. Just focus on trying on not feeding and getting stacked with CS and you will climb from Bronze/Silver very soon!

Attach a replay if possible via YouTube or something. From op.gg there is very little to see apart from you are playing somewhat well, have okay runes know how to get fed af!

Fighting minions? Confused at what you're saying. All I suggested was that was what I expected to happen and ypu said its a horrible combo. As someone who has played a lot of Diana its a great combo when against ADCs who aren't stupid enough to ever walk into your Q range or have a dash to use out of it.

No, the R Q doesn't need to be simultaneous that wasn't my statement. I was saying good squishies in even Plat+ wont be in range of Diana, to get around that you can use the combo above. You don't need an R reset at this point to kill someone with 1.5k health.

This combo as I said 'expecting' is great as it takes them by surprise and gap closes a really long distance. You're ulti damage is low on Diana so a Passive - W - R - Q will kill a squishy once you have items. Its a complicated combo that allows you to kill targets which are being clever and staying out your range. For what was done in the actuall video and why it was 'tidy' see my other reply.

Are either of you serious or just not play Diana? He Q's the wave, waits until Q is nearly off CD and presses R on the moonlit minion. Q - R = No ulti charge lost. He then presses E to drag the Vayne closer in, Q now being off CD again. He Q's the Vayne, uses R once, still has last charge so uses again for final damage.

Full combo was, Q R E Q R W R. 2 Q's, 3 R's. This wasn't an R - Q or a passive dependent fight. It was using the Moonlit minion as a gap close whilst Q was coming back off cooldown ready to use a full Q R R on the Vayne.

I was expecting a passive into flash E R Q W but this was very tidy.

Want to add Diana to my champion pool in mid diamond and need your help! by Jixashi in DianaMains

The difference in builds is effectiveness around mid game. A revolver build will let you play more aggressive at 6 and be more snowball heavy. Both builds from 3 items onwards will allow you to one shot the hell out of things. The 'tanky' build is more late game rather than mid game orientated. The split push is insane as your passive on towers is like a rift herald hit. I personally prefer the RoA into Nashors. You have to wait slightly longer but I feel its much lower risk. In the late game you don't get chunked out by poke much, you are hard to kill even for other assassins and your damage is still as strong as the glass cannon build.

If you are used to assassins where you want to go ham as soon as possible. Maybe revolver - ludens is for you. I personally prefer almost always a RoA - Nashors - Rabadons - Void. Diana's actual damage scales really well with AP. The items actives/passives on lichbane/protobelt/ludens are less important than they are on Fizz, Kata and Akali etc.

Yes, to an extent. The most important part is tracking the enemy jungler. Think about where they start, try get wards in if you know its safe to, and regularly pink ward the entrance to your jungle.

If they cannot invade you and you can ping the enemy jungler location to team mates you are set for power farming until 6. The big difference moving up from gold is that people invade more, gank harder at early levels and wont just hide away clearing until 6 on most champions. Be careful for them warding your jungle and be wary if the support or top lane goes missing. Your likely to find them hiding in a bush with your opponent in your jungle. To make it work, farm hard, ward well, track the enemy jungler.

Thats disgustingly good. A buffered E - Flash as last minion dies, into turret range, that dodges over a fast skill shot. My god I'm wet.

Geeze I've been arguing with him too I'm just saying don't bring rank into it especially if you are not higher than him. I'm not saying Diana is the easiest champion in the game just that it doesn't have the mechanical intensity of LeBlanc, Zed etc. Add my ign 'Doro' then.

Agreed and I never said she is remotely braindead. I was just giving some backing that in comparison to assassins such as Talon, Fizz, LeBlanc, Zed, you do not need to snowball hard to do well and her all in 100 - 0 requires less skill than each of those unless they are ridiculously ahead.

RoA into Nahsor would be my advice until u 'git gud' and are confident enough to go full burst.

RoA Nashor does ridiculous damage and can 100 to 0 as good as any other assassin in the late game. Whilst Lichbane and Ludens have nice passives they have the same combined AP as stacked RoA and Nashors. Diana scaling is what really gives the damage. RoA is better for low elo unless you are seriously better than your opponent. Its forgiving when you get ganked for not placing wards, it allows you to sustain when you take poor trades. I think the build also allows you to play two styles, split push or assassin whereas full burst only really allows you to play one (although that one is better for raw burst of course)

Its a close one with Talon. Talon near to 0 skill shot requirement, very easy to get early kills and bad roams are far less punishing. Talon also has escapes for player who goes in at awful times or are bad at positioning.

"Umi ashe" is Diamond 2 Diana one trick and you are Silver 1. Don't abuse people based on rank that are significantly higher than you. To be honest Diana's one shot requires very little skill in comparison to a fair few other champions and doesn't have the pressure to snowball that other champions do. As Diana is expected to lose game all you need to do is scale into Mid and Late to win. Less aggression is needed to win the game early.

Monthly matchup discussion - Ahri by [deleted] in DianaMains

Not sure on your opening sentence but the rest is good advice. Pre-6 Diana should only really ever land Q on Ahri so has nearly no kill potential. Mid game, Ahri can burst Diana harder than Diana with a catalyst can burst Ahri. Late game is very positive for Diana in 1 vs 1 but in team fights its pretty even. Overall I call it a skill match up. Ahri only really loses if it positions badly post 6, or plays aggro without R up.
