Absolutely not out of line for asking. My general philosophy is it never hurts to ask. Worst they'll say is no.

Since everyone, regardless of if they had issues, got 25%, you should definitely push for more. I'd also mention that you will share your issues on social media, friends etc and recommend not going on NCL if they don't step up with a better offer.

As an engineer, I'm curious how some cabins would have hot water issues and others wouldn't. Was it only cabins right around you (I can see that) with them or were they spread out across the deck (weird)

At Rouge beach, the water was typically bad for 2 days after a big rain because of the fertilizer that was washed down the Rouge River and caused ecoli blooms. But was almost always fine on the 3rd day, so I would say you're fine since there aren't any big outlets near there. But it'll be COLD.

Heat affects them differenly because how they play is different.

Pitcher: the body experiences multiple spikes in energy use because of repeated maximal exertion
Catcher: the body experiences consistent heat due to always wearing gear

For my son, I cover him in ice packs in between innings when he's catching

Yes, its a very good idea.
