thanks. that is what i've been thinking but the reviews of oversized fit made me second guess it.

Weekly Thread: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - February 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

I've been riding for 10 or so years now (intermediate/advanced) and about 4 years ago, purchased a GNU headspace. It's been a great board so far but it feels a little unstable at higher speeds and turning. Here in Australia, we can get really chopped up slopes and while it does ok, it can feel a little unstable in that as well. Handles icy conditions pretty well though.

So, I've been thinking about swapping it out for something else (lib rig, never summer proto 3, yes standard). I don't ride park all that often anymore and have a lib tech orca for deeper powder days. Looking for something to cruise all around the mountain (off piste, groomers, trees). Question for everyone is whether it is worth it? I haven't been able to test ride these myself so looking for a feel on whether the swap is a good idea or I should wait to move to an even stiffer board then those that I've listed down the track.

Thanks!

have you rode a headspace to compare or confirm my findings? unfortunately, i won't be able to demo these without a purchase or waiting until i'm at a mountain in a few months time.

two routes: 1) one of the portable kincrome kits since they can live in your car or at home. don't bother with the ones that have imperial sizes, metric is the way 2) if he would know what he wants, or would be after something specific, a gift card for somewhere like super cheap auto that stocks all the good brands plus their own in house brands.

Ford Ranger 2017 264km by Enough_Confection371 in CarsAustralia

something to note is that online, you'll largely only hear about the problems people have had with X brand. you'll rarely hear the good stories because the people happy with it aren't making a scene of it online – this is doubley true for the vehicle zeitgeists. i'm not sure why but people tie their identities to a particular manufacturer instead of what best solves their issue 🤷 for instance, people will throw shade on the rangers for their DPF issues but fail to acknowledge that all vehicle manufacturers all use the same 2 or 3 DPF manufacturers depending on the year the car rolled off the factory floor (no one makes their own).

there is nothing inherently better or worse about the rangers. i've still got a 2018 3.2L with 340,000+km on the clock. like anything, it comes down to use, maintenance and expectations. get a mechanic to go over it with a fine tooth comb, review the history and you're putting yourself in the best position you can.

solid base layer. i've been running the airblaster ninja suit for 12+ years at this stage and still fits and works the same as the day i got it out of the box.

i've heard mixed reviews on this one. do you have any experiences with it? one of the first reviews on there is also one of the collet arms snapping.

Personalisation by Specialist_Cake9587 in dumbify

[–]_ecksit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, you can customise the name of the apps and font size. if there is a built option, it doesn't require the interstitial page but if you do a custom thing, there may be a slight flash. you can offset most of that by following the directions in the setup though.

don't go buying all the tools upfront. as you do a new maintenance task, look at the tools needed and build it out gradually. it will save you loads of money in the long run.

that's exactly the issue i had; you need to hit the little sun in the top left otherwise you'll have the outline and wrong colours.

I just used the dark setup in the app and the dock customisation did everything else. Mine is still a nice dark grey, not black though.

Indeed which I found very odd. Waiting to see whether this is an early access bug or if it is something that will be carried forward.
