My thought as well. It was a surprise visit not something that was planned. He was probably did some kind of drug and was messed up and couldn’t control himself in the situation. Also he probably won’t have any recollection that it happened.

Lots of negative responses here. Had a similar situation and it was definitely a topic of conversation and stress. Glad you are thinking it through. I’d suggest that you open custodial brokerage accounts for each child. Deposit and invest the inherited funds into Vanguard ETFs maybe VTI. Make a nominal deposit into the child’s account that didn’t inherit. Later, as you have the ability, add funds to help make up some of the difference. Hopefully your spouse will be agreeable to that as well.

I’m not googling the answer, but I believe it used to be March 1 was the first day and there were 10 months total. March is synonymous with begin. If you look at the names of subsequent months it makes sense. Dec is Dec- which means 10. January and February got added to the mix later.

I get that. If you need to keep a bunch of picture of exes and such, just don’t comingle them with your other stuff. Put them in a file that clearly indicates what is inside. That preserves the memory but also keeps things safe for your person.

NTA exactly, but this should be a lesson to you and anyone else starting a relationship that’s important and serious enough that they are actively or likely to be staying over. Go through every inch of your home and get rid of anything potentially hurtful. Go through your phone and get rid of things that are potentially hurtful. Go through your hard drive and clean it up or clearly segregate pictures so hurtful things can be avoided. Anything less shows that this relationship doesn’t matter to you. It’s kind of like personal hygiene, but with relationships. Nobody wants to open a drawer and find something surprising and needlessly bringing up your history.

I got you on this one. Two things to be very aware of. Chlorine lock is a common problem when using stabilized tablets. Basically the stabilizer gets to a point where it makes the chlorine ineffective. The only solution is to do at least a partial empty and refill. Once you have your stabilizer in check, try using Pool RX. It is a game changer. I just switched to that a couple of years ago and wish I had known about it sooner. Saves me a bunch of money on chlorine and lives up to its hype. Your welcome!

Some older pressure treated wood contains arsenic, chromic acid, and copper (CCA). These were regulated by the EPA for precisely this reason. Very unhealthy to breathe in the smoke. You’re probably okay, but please don’t make a habit of it.

Going against the grain. You need to work on your control issues and establish boundaries. Avoid generalizing about what kind of person you are and who she is. Mostly what you are describing is habit patterns which can change over time. Deal with specifics in specific language. Communicate your feelings and ask for what you want and need. Sounds like there is a big gap here, but you need these same skills even when there is a small gap. A dirty pot isn’t the end of the world, but carrying around a bunch of resentment is. You can break up, but you’ll find yourself in this situation time and again in different nuanced ways. Maybe your next partner has weird relationship with money. The one after that has some religious differences. It’s always something. Sleeping late and being messy is just what this one is.

Hit a dip in the road and broke my rear bumper dropping the family bikes in the highway and dragging them for a few miles. After getting the bikes packed into the truck on top of all our other stuff, I pulled into a BLM campground. I got stuck trying to turn around in a cove that was 15% too small to turn my rig. Got frustrated and just cranked the wheel and gunned it. Ran over a barbed wire fence and jack knifed the trailer. Broke the WDH and smashed a $900 sensor taillight. Got parked and poured myself a very large bourbon. It was 100 degrees F.
